Wasted money on failed platform (raptor lake lul), can't OC, need beefy water cooling if you want to fully use it. Yes, joke. Half ass pcie 5 to boot.
Anyone want to flash this to crosshair vi for testing![]()

A 5800x can't OC is that a joke too? No you don't need beefy W/C there's loads using it with air cooling. Why doe it even need OC'ing if its faster than a 58/900 anyway? I accept there is nothing to use the PCIe slot for now.
You stick with your Ryzen set up....................oh wait
5800X can't OC? Does more than AL 100mhz

1. No, they cant. When PBO can reach 5050MHz and all core OC's tend to sit at 4.7GHz, they technically underclock.5800X can't OC? Does more than AL 100mhz

As this shows (again) they have to cut certain CPU types to add more.So. Who was all brakes on to avoid bios updates ? AMD ? Brands ? Both ?
Choosing for both but not on par, 66 % for boards makers, 33 for AMD. AMD didn't need to sell mobos. But in the same time, they need to sell so-called cool features.
Board makers needed to sell more, after poor K10 years...
Now waiting for 350 updates (a 5800x to replace my 1800x should be noice).
The main slots are PCI-E 3.0, with the chipset based slots being 2.0 (the 1x slots, possibly a bottom 4x slot)Meh. Anyone who has an x370 probably has ddr2133 anyway. If you’re going to upgrade to latest cpu you’d probably want to upgrade ram to ensure it will run at 3200 at least. If you’re that far in may as well upgrade motherboard also. I think my x370 is pcie v2??

you do are aware that you can indeed run ADL w/ DDR4 yes, and that even w/ DDR4 it is like, good (ie: better than Vermeer) ... ?Haha! ADL is a joke. Only people buying are the benchers for the single core crown...that's it. DDR5 is not ready, that's why they are waiting to release Zen4. Zen 3 is all they need to compete with ADL so they don't care.
For those that have not figured this out yet... there is not enough room in bios memory for too many cpu's!

The ASUS 300/400 boards were terrible. 300 boards were overpriced junk, and at least in my experience the BIOS for their x470 crosshair was a buggy ustable mess that took nearly 2 years to iron out.The Pitchfork should be aimed at Asus, they made TUF boards garbage after the Sabertooth R 2.0, also they are slow to get bios updates on their ROG, Prime boards.
@TheLostSwede
They are by far better at keeping customers satisfied unlike Asus.
People seem to gloss over intel never promising to support their socket for 4 years, while AMD did then tried, repeatedly, to weasel out of their promise.Broken promises or not, I still don't believe the anger is warranted. People seem to gloss over the fact that Intel, aside from the 1151 which saw several rehashes of the same architecture, roll out a new socket every 2 years forcing an upgrade anyway. Comet Lake's 1200 socket didn't even last a year!
Zen 2 released~2.5 years after the X370 chipset. Add another year and a bit for Zen 3. Longer than most generational Intel socket compatibility
A software limit that seems manufacturers are working to remove is better than a physical limit!
What Bulldozer support? No AM4 CPU is based on Bulldozer. That was exclusively AM3. The only thing close were the Bristol Ridge dies which were Excavator derived, but only loosely so.Just drop support for any and all bulldozer and zen1 based CPUs and be done with it. I’m sure there would be plenty of space after that.
Edit: oh and all of you with 300 series motherboards still rocking the above mentioned CPUs…JUST DONT UPDATE THE BIOS
