honestly never finished the first crysis. thought it was kind of boring after the first 30 mins. bit overrated of a game imo, just popular cause of the "can it run badly optimized game" jokes/hype it always got.

lets hope crysis 4 is made on the unreal engine, so it will look great and run great. instead of on crap engine

Play it on the highest difficulty setting. I thought it was boring too until I tried that and the game made a lot more sense. I don't really play FPS games but I actually finished and liked Crysis.

Love anything Crytek since the first Farcry. The first Crysis is actually a pretty good game and imo still stands up today. The open world environment is pretty good and gives options to use stealth instead of full on fire fight. I guess it's not for everyone though.

Can't wait to see where they go with 4, wonder if they will still involve the ceph.

i will give the remastered a try. i still say their coding and engine sucks though. unreal games look just as good if not better and run more smoothly/higher fps

Try the original farcry. It still plays fine as is, so says a lot for how good their engine is/was.

How does their engine suck?

Loved the first game. One of the few games I played more than 3 times from start to finish. I just hope they make it fully multi-threaded this time and make it first for pc then downgrade it for the consoles.

Try the original farcry. It still plays fine as is, so says a lot for how good their engine is/was.

At the time FarCry has pretty good enemy AI. I thought they bad guys did pretty good for trying to flank you and search you out. The graphics are certainly dated, but I still think FarCry was the best out of any iteration that came out after it. I enjoyed all of the game, up until the end...I didn't really like the monstrous creatures tied into the game.
The second one sucked so much that I couldn't bring myself to play it - tried for a handful of hours and then just walked away from it.
The third one wasn't that great but at least the main antagonist was good.
The fourth was so boring that I never finished it - I tried to, but after about 10 hours I walked away.
The fifth one I only played through because of co-op, otherwise the game itself was dull, tedious and the QTEs made me want to pull my hair out.
I won't partake in anymore Far Cry games, I've learned my lesson.

I thought Crysis was decent. It wasn't super amazing and I didn't really make use of half of the suit's special powers, but sometimes it was fun to just screw around and put up the suit's super strength and punch the crap out of things. Or use the suit's speed boost and run through, hit someone and then keep running while they all panic looking for you.

Never much liked Crysis 2 or 3, those two games felt more like rail shooters. You lost that freedom of navigating a map and forced to follow paths, even if you had multiple paths to follow the feeling of freedom wasn't there like in the first one. Not all of the first Crysis was open world free roaming, but that was one of the things I really did enjoy about it.

Anyway. If you haven't played Far Cry or Crysis, I'd say at least give them a decent try. The other entries in those series aren't that impressive.

How does their engine suck?

I honestly prefer the cryengine and was dissapointed they toned it down in the sequels. That engine is gorgeous with everything cranked.

When the cry engine appeared it was the best for open world games. The FarCry games used dunia after the first, but sure the Crysis ones still used cry engine. Did the following Crysis games use a different engine?

Also, isn't the Crysis remastered a bit buggered up compared to the original?

I kinda liked Crysis 1/2/3, played the first game on my 8800 GT back in the days, that was the only game that really gave it issues at the time.

And now Crysis 4 yeah my current GPU is like don't even think about it you madman.
Tho maybe by the time the game is relased we can actually buy new GPUs that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 'one can hope right:oops:'

Modern Cryengine games are well optimized from my experience, i played Prey 2017 and i was getting 60fps while my 980Ti was on passive mode lol, but yes i do agree that past Cryengine games were a nightmare

I actually finished Crysis 3 in 4 hours and 30 minutes, i was so disappointed how short it was, Crysis 2 was my favorite because the campaign and shooting mechanics in that game was lots of fun for me.

When the cry engine appeared it was the best for open world games. The FarCry games used dunia after the first, but sure the Crysis ones still used cry engine. Did the following Crysis games use a different engine?

All Crysis use cryengine, the remaster has a some stuttering bug but i belive that got patched

Anyway. If you haven't played Far Cry or Crysis, I'd say at least give them a decent try. The other entries in those series aren't that impressive.
Farcry 2 and 3 were great, 4 was a reskin of 3, and 5 is where the series begane to become stale

Best news of the day. I hope it will be again on there cryengine. Crysis be longs on the cryengine.

So I can listen to the golden words, at least for me: achieve with cryengine 4

With a new pc and a rtx 3080, I shut me reasonably ready for the game.

The big question is... Who is the publisher gonna be. Because if its going to be EA then that may cause issues.

I loved the first Far Cry and was disappointed by how different the 2 was, it's still a good game but the storyline has nothing in common with the first game, and the pills mechanic made it unplayable at certain points and if you ran out of pills in the middle of a mission you had no choice but to start all over again.
Crysis always felt like a playable benchmark to me, yeah north korea commies bad, rescue the damsel in distress and you get to shoot a bunch of alien tentacle machines but that's about it.

Are you kidding, what other games even comes close to actually being inside the alien ship, the only trick they missed was reversing controls or something but was pretty epic, I wonder you finished it, and in the context of when it came out, it was revolutionary to be able to choose how to do whole missions.
