QNAP Launches Next-Generation 10GbE and 2.5GbE SD-WAN QHora Routers

QNAP Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking, and storage solution innovator, today added two new members to the QHora router product lineup - the QHora-322 and the QHora-321—to provide an ultimate high-speed wired networking performance. As next-generation SD-WAN routers, both models provide enterprise-grade Mesh VPN networking and wired connectivity. For businesses and personal users to build a secure networking experience and independent network segments for NAS and IoT environments, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of a NAS or IoT device (of any brand) to secure remote access and backup via VPN.

With an enterprise-grade quad-core processor, the QHora-322 provides three 10GbE ports and six 2.5 GbE ports while the QHora-321 provides six 2.5 GbE ports. Perhaps I'm missing somethin here, but exactly what's the point of having (and paying for) a router with 10GB wired ports when most normal everyday ISP connections only provide a 1GB service ????

It's for anyone who can get and also can afford a connection faster than 1GB. There's an older model (301W) with a 10G/5G/2.5G WAN port so I'm sure these new routers have at least the same capabilites.

Well, I'm pretty sure that's a very small % of people right now, given the current economic situation, which is why I prefaced my comment with "normal, everyday", but I get your point nonetheless

My ISP offers 2GB beside that I use 10GB b/n my pc and servers.

I could use it. My work pays for my internet connection cause it's professional use. I have stuff like 10gbe NAS, servers, and desktops along with adapters for my devices attached to TB3 docks.

A lot of stuff here from NAS, to router, to SSDs that people are confused about is for power users and enterprise. Playing video games is not power user in anyway shape or form. Even stuff like the up comming samsung 990 Pro is not really entended for normal consumers, especially gamers. Of course they will buy it. But it's target is a completely different market. Now since gamers will buy anything that benchmarks well than of course steal them blind for every last cent, that's capitalism! But it's not intended for them and they'll never see any benefit from it.

High end gear is really "prosumer" which is crap for those of us on enterprise gear in the office but need good enough or close to it at home. Price is no object, because it makes money. There are a ton of us. There's also small businesses that need this stuff cause, again, you make money, and their budget is not like yours. The consumer mass market is not where the juice is, it's enterpise, business, small business, and prosumer. Who all can pay a price that's good for it. Consumer market is just for milking and bilking people.
