QNAP Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking, and storage solution innovator, today added two new members to the QHora router product lineup - the QHora-322 and the QHora-321—to provide an ultimate high-speed wired networking performance. As next-generation SD-WAN routers, both models provide enterprise-grade Mesh VPN networking and wired connectivity. For businesses and personal users to build a secure networking experience and independent network segments for NAS and IoT environments, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of a NAS or IoT device (of any brand) to secure remote access and backup via VPN.

With an enterprise-grade quad-core processor, the QHora-322 provides three 10GbE ports and six 2.5 GbE ports while the QHora-321 provides six 2.5 GbE ports. Both QHora models offer flexible WAN/LAN configurations for optimized network deployment, achieving high-speed LAN, streamlined cross-site file transfer, independent operation of multiple segments, and auto mesh multi-site VPN. Furthermore, both QHora models enable interconnected Mesh VPN topology via QuWAN (QNAP's SD-WAN technology), providing reliable network infrastructure for prioritized network bandwidth, automatic WAN failover and centralized cloud management.

"Data security is a primary concern for organizations and personal users. To secure remote access and prevent potential attacks, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of your NAS device for remote access scenarios. With additional features such as the firewall and SD-WAN-provided IPsec VPN, QHora routers deliver a secure networking experience, and effectively reduces potential threats of data loss from malware and ransomware," said Frank Liao, Product Manager of QNAP.

QHora routers use the QuRouter OS, providing a user-friendly web-based GUI to assist in everyday network management tasks. The QHora-322 and QHora-321 both feature cutting-edge network security techniques, emphasizing access security between enterprise VPN and edge connections. Features including website filtering, VPN server, VPN client, firewalls, port forwarding, and access controls can effectively filter and block untrusted connections and login attempts. SD-WAN also provides IPsec encryption VPN, Deep Packet Inspection, and L7 Firewall to ensure the security of VPNs. Paired with QuWAN Orchestrator, both QHora models help businesses build a flexible and highly-reliable next-generation network.

Built for modern offices, IoT, and noise-sensitive environments, the QHora-322 and QHora-321 feature a near-silent design that ensures cool, stable, and quiet operations even when under heavy load. Both QHora models employ a modern design that aesthetically fits into home or office environments.

Key specifications
  • QHora-322: Quad-core processor, 4 GB RAM; 3 x 10GBASE-T ports (10G/ 5G/ 2.5G/ 1G/ 100M), 6 x 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports (2.5G/ 1G/ 100M/ 10M); 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.
  • QHora-321: Quad-core processor, 4 GB RAM; 6 x 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports (2.5G/ 1G/ 100M/ 10M).

Perhaps I'm missing somethin here, but exactly what's the point of having (and paying for) a router with 10GB wired ports when most normal everyday ISP connections only provide a 1GB service ????

It's for anyone who can get and also can afford a connection faster than 1GB. There's an older model (301W) with a 10G/5G/2.5G WAN port so I'm sure these new routers have at least the same capabilites.

Well, I'm pretty sure that's a very small % of people right now, given the current economic situation, which is why I prefaced my comment with "normal, everyday", but I get your point nonetheless :)

My ISP offers 2GB ;) beside that I use 10GB b/n my pc and servers.

I could use it. My work pays for my internet connection cause it's professional use. I have stuff like 10gbe NAS, servers, and desktops along with adapters for my devices attached to TB3 docks.

A lot of stuff here from NAS, to router, to SSDs that people are confused about is for power users and enterprise. Playing video games is not power user in anyway shape or form. Even stuff like the up comming samsung 990 Pro is not really entended for normal consumers, especially gamers. Of course they will buy it. But it's target is a completely different market. Now since gamers will buy anything that benchmarks well than of course steal them blind for every last cent, that's capitalism! But it's not intended for them and they'll never see any benefit from it.

High end gear is really "prosumer" which is crap for those of us on enterprise gear in the office but need good enough or close to it at home. Price is no object, because it makes money. There are a ton of us. There's also small businesses that need this stuff cause, again, you make money, and their budget is not like yours. The consumer mass market is not where the juice is, it's enterpise, business, small business, and prosumer. Who all can pay a price that's good for it. Consumer market is just for milking and bilking people.
