NVIDIA has reportedly set the retail MSRP of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 "Ada" graphics card at USD $600. This would put its starting price at anywhere between $170-200 cheaper than the RTX 4070 Ti. We know from reports of different review NDAs for "MSRP" and "non-MSRP" RTX 4070 custom-design graphics cards, that there is an emphasis from NVIDIA's side to ensure that every board partner has cards to sell at MSRP (this $600 price). The rather large price-gap between the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Ti should carve out room for premium custom-design RTX 4070 cards without treading too close to the cheapest RTX 4070 Ti.

The GeForce RTX 4070 is reportedly based on the same AD104 silicon as the RTX 4070 Ti, albeit heavily cut down, with just 46 out of 60 streaming multiprocessors being enabled, which work out to just 5,888 CUDA cores, compared to the 7,680 present on the silicon. Other specs include 46 RT cores, 184 Tensor cores, 184 TMUs, and possibly 64 ROPs. The memory sub-system is unchanged from the Ti, you reportedly get 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit wide memory interface, with 504 GB/s of memory bandwidth on tap. NVIDIA is planning to launch the RTX 4070 in mid-April.

Officially there will be but practically they'll be out of stock!

I’m getting to the point where I’d rather buy a dirt bike or otherwise invest in some other such hobby that I’ve never tried before, even at a net much greater expense, than to ever buy a new card again. I guess new GPUs are like new pickup trucks, where a lot of guys feel compelled to have it seemingly regardless of cost.

12GB for a 70 class is fine, 3070 had 8GB. Issue is the price, but this seems to be the norm now. More than the 3080 FE lol.

When they quote those sources they always say it's just a rumour so don't expect it to be completely accurate.

Can you provide a link to the article with the higher pricing so we can see if it said rumor or not?

So bitter & salty. How dare btarunr report tech news even if it is BS rumors. If you had a critical thinking brain you'd know it's obvious conditioning on Nvidia's part. Pretend there's a leak/rumor of a high price $750 & make sure said "leak/rumor" has spread enough, await reaction..... make price lower to pretend to appease the market, tech enthusiasts will still complain but the average drone out there will buy it up, the end.

Compared to the 4070 Ti, 4070 is heavily butchered in number of cores at least, so that $600 price is justified - always compared with the price of 4070 Ti.
But of course it is expensive and I wonder if that older rumor about $700+ MSRP was just a trick to make us feel good with that $600 price today.

I'm sure those $600 cards will sell out on day one and for the rest of the lifespan of the card, we'll never see those $600 cards again.

Understand, it's not about whether it's a rumor or not, everything is a rumor until official source confirms it. It's about using common sense not to base your articles on a source with highly questionable track record to say at least. If the first rumor was $700, at least you could make a case for the upsell tactics. But $750, 6% less money for a 20% slower product? Give me a break. No informed person (and i consider TPU staff to be well informed) would believe it, but boy does it make a good clickbait..

Sure buddy, it's nvidia messing with our minds and not some bs artist making stuff up for internet clout.

Yes, considering the 3070 should have been $400, now just one generation on, the nGreedia asswipe wants an additional $200.

It will be a 3080 level gpu but with 12GB of RAM and DLSS3 support.
Not bad.
600$ means 600£ in UK. Not the best but since everything is more expensive now, that's the norm.

AMD should have released the whole lineup months ago.
You just can't be slower, not competitive in price and release you products after your competitor. It's suicidal.

“Someone” leaks a high price, consumer base scoffs, Nvidia then states an official price of $xxx lower, profit.

I hope no one buys this garbage but, it’s inevitable. $150 too expensive imo. The 4050 is going to be 300+ $ at this point, insane.

Comically given the prices of the 4070ti/4080 my brain wants to say 600 usd isn't too bad but considering how much this is seemingly cut down to the point it really looks like a 3060/3060 ti successor has me worried about the under 500 usd market,

I never really liked the 3080 because of the 10GB of Vram but in hindsight anyone who got it at MSRP or less probably got the last decently priced 80 tier product.

Needs to be $450-500 at most. 12GB on a card is basically limiting it to 1440p and I don't think a 1440p card warrants a $600 price tag.

At the time I only had a 1080p 144hz display. I've since upgraded to 1440p 165hz. I've always been willing to drop texture settings for added performance, so the 10gb limit doesn't bother me too much.

Even this is apparently only a rumor:

"NVIDIA has reportedly set the retail MSRP of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 "Ada" graphics card at USD $600."
