Even this is apparently only a rumor:

"NVIDIA has reportedly set the retail MSRP of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 "Ada" graphics card at USD $600."

It's more believable than 750 usd though which would make the product DOA imo. I'm sure plenty would buy and defend it at 600 usd and for some people on really old hardware like a 1070/1080 it might be a pretty large upgrade.

I would love to see this $600 card using DLSS 3 compared to the $2000 3090 ti from last year, and to see how close (Or even possibly faster) it could be.

So bitter & salty. How dare btarunr report tech news even if it is BS rumors. If you had a critical thinking brain you'd know it's obvious conditioning on Nvidia's part. Pretend there's a leak/rumor of a high price $750 & make sure said "leak/rumor" has spread enough, await reaction..... make price lower to pretend to appease the market, tech enthusiasts will still complain but the average drone out there will buy it up, the end.
Its just annoying TPU gives clickbaity youtubers that much attention. Sad, too. Do your own fact checking, instead.

And for the 'testing the waters' idea... so tech press is helping Nvidia's marketing department now? Great fucking job then, thanks, I Hate it.

You aren't worried that in two years time there could be games out that use DLSS 4 that doesn't run on your $600 card, but it runs perfectly fine on new cheaper cards with less hardware capability, and that your card is artificially made obsolete?

It will be a 3080 level gpu but with 12GB of RAM and DLSS3 support.
Not bad.
600$ means 600£ in UK. Not the best but since everything is more expensive now, that's the norm.

AMD should have released the whole lineup months ago.
You just can't be slower, not competitive in price and release you products after your competitor. It's suicidal.
Considering the 3080 FE RRP was 699.00 I fail to see the value in the 4070.

I didn't care that my 3080ti couldn't run DLSS3 I just bought a 4090 problem solved

This is the way things have always been honestly new generations of gpu get features older ones don't support life goes on.

DLSS 3 is pretty niche anyways and only works well in single player games where the latency hit doesn't matter anyways.

Whatever feature they add will be a seperate piece of technology. IMO AI Frame Generation looks a lot better then AI Upscaling so I often turn DLSS 2.0 off and 3.0 on. It's kind of a bad naming convention because the two don't really do the same thing. So yeah please someone invent a new form of AI enhancement and it's okay to buy a card for 600 now that'll probably sell for 300 in 2 years. When you think about it that way people are now buying 3090's for $300 (I don't actually know yet what the 4070 compares to with DLSS 3 on.)

You have to divide by 1.6. $600 now is what used to be 375. Besides. 30 series used to be unavailable for 2 years. If there were no viruses and wars we would be looking at a 4060 because in the past "n"60 used to be the "n-1"80. Like 1060 and 2060 pretty much the same as 980 and 1080. I'm buying it because of my 980 Ti = GTX1660Super needs an upgrade.

Even though it's yet another rumor, this cutdown to hell low-end card will be $600 for an unrealistic price in American hardware stores - it's gonna cost $1000 for AIB models internationally, then.

I don't know mate, I haven't earned a raise that big. Nor have my investments paid anything anywhere near close to that 80% purported or so

Understand, it's not about whether it's a rumor or not, everything is a rumor until official source confirms it. It's about using common sense not to base your articles on a source with highly questionable track record to say at least. If the first rumor was $700, at least you could make a case for the upsell tactics. But $750, 6% less money for a 20% slower product? Give me a break. No informed person (and i consider TPU staff to be well informed) would believe it, but boy does it make a good clickbait..

Sure buddy, it's nvidia messing with our minds and not some bs artist making stuff up for internet clout.
Wurschti provided the link to the story and it was marked rumor. Rumors are part of tech news sites and our discussion communities at large. But thanks for having us check. Looks like we are all good as things were tagged appropriately.

Where did you get the 1.6 from. Official source please.

So then can we assume a $500 4060ti and a $400 4060? Because then we're finally in a price range I'm interested in.

I'd say that is a good bet although if the lower tier cards don't have FE models expect a 20-50 usd higher asking price.

Pricewise, yes. But it depends on how much performance we get out of these. I mean, if they'll be just 4050 in disguise, just to hit a price point, we're still screwed.

Hopefully the cards in that price range are actually performant enough to be worth it to you.

I think it depends on what people are currently using if the 4060 doubles the performance of the 1060 for 399 usd most 1060 owners will probably be ok with that. The average price of a 1060 at launch was probably around 275 usd putting it at around 350 usd when accounting for inflation. My biggest issue with it is the 8GB of vram it really should come with 12GB at that price. It will firmly be a card for 1080p and although there is nothing wrong with that it's a shame Nvidia is really dividing card tiers by resolution these days. 4090/4080 4k, 4070/4070ti 1440p, anything lower 1080p smh.....

Don't get me wrong I still think it will be a terrible product at 400 usd but what choice do gamers have anymore other than just not buy and stick with their aging cards as the only alternative or gamble on the used market I guess. Hopefully AMD has more appealing options at the sub 400 price point but I'm not holding my breath.

I think you're overstating it. I play at 1440p today on an aging 1660ti and it hangs in there if I mess with settings a bit. A 6700xt ($350) would be twice as fast and handle it pretty comfortably.

A $400 4060 that outperforms the 6700xt would be a good buy. More likely, we'll get a $400 4060 that just matches or slightly trails the 6700xt and keeps its $50 premium because raytracing.

At least for me if I'm buying a card in 2023 for 1440p I'd want 12GB of vram at a min of course everyone has different levels of performance that are acceptable to them some like to game at 1080p at 40 fps and feel that is more than adequate I like gaming at 4k at 90fps + so it is what it is.

The fact that as you say it will likely match or beat a 6700XT but offer 50% less vram is kinda sad the 6700XT isn't even a card I really like but If I had around 350 usd to spend on a card I would go with it over any of the 8GB options.

That's too much tbf. There were some mentions about 16GB 4060ti, i could see that costing $500 if it's real at all. But 8GB 4060ti should be $400-450 max. Don't forget we are talking 3070-3070ti performance level and 3080 performance level with 4070. So hypothetically, if we compare 4070 @$600 vs 4060ti 8GB @$500, $100 would get you ~20% more performance and 4GB of VRAM. That would make 4060ti a bad value. So unless nvidia is planning on sacrificing 4060ti to sell more 4070s, i don't see 4060ti costing more than $450.

As for 4060, if it really is based on AD107 with 3072 cores, then that's a $300-350 product and that's pushing it. This card won't be much better than 3060, maybe 15-20%?
I think AMD could do well at <$500 price range as people don't care that much about RT with these weaker cards and N32 offers more flexibility with memory config coz its 256bit chip. So there could be some interesting SKUs from them. Not that excited when it comes to N33 tho, unless it's super aggressively priced.

Hugging my 3080 ftw3 ultra that i got for 520 last fall so tightly now. Hopefully it'll keep me happy until gpu market collapses.

I luv the click baity threads on here because that gives us post after post of how Nvidia is killing babies in their sleep along with those European posters who live in countries with a 25% VAT blaming Nvidia for the sh1tty prices of gpu's in their countries. Great entertainment. ^^

Well, I am a simple person, Diablo IV will release in two months, and my PC handles it just fine, gonna play the crap out of it, so, maybe in 10 years all nVidia's shinanigans will be gone (wishful thinking) and I will upgrade again.
