shouldn't it be easier to cool since its upside down?
It's easier to cool in the cases where it sits right on the bottom as its fans push the hot air out of the case, or where it's above case fans that do the same. In this case where the bottom part is cramped with bunch of stuff, the conventional cooling would fair much better I suppose, as the hot air has a simpler and natural escape route going to the top.

No. Intakes are on top, pulling warmer air from the upper part of the case and basically recycles the hot air. An 80mm fan assists pushing cool air from the front case intakes to the GPU intakes. I have only found a couple of waterblocks for the 4070s and between the cost and availability, I stayed with air. Hopefully Ill come across one soon.

the limitations of older case designs are remarkable. I got a first hand exp while reusing my NZXT Guardian 921RB

So true, especially with cable management and fan sizes. It used to be my hole saw and dremel saw a ton of use, but nowadays case makers answered the call. I do love old cases and absolutely hate that every company is making fish tanks, snooze. I build my PCs so they will be unique, not the same as everyone else's.

After over a month of waiting for parts, learning watercooling and rebuilding the loop over a dozen times, making sure everything is 1000% and efficient.. I've finally completed my my mid-life crisis build to the point I can go back to the real world. Today I finished her off with the ROG Thor III 1200W PSU. My 12VHPWR went from 11.9v Idle, 11.7v load to 12.1 idle and 11.9 load also was interesting to see how much power my computer consumed at max load :D.

Parts arrived... after I did my rough cut of the video for my build. Lol. Figures. Slapped my newer, faster bdie in and it went right to 3600/cl16 with no other adjustments, to 3600/cl14 with a lil voltage. Shooting for 3800mhz cl14...
The rest of the gauges came in and a couple of 60mm fans too. I will most likely reshoot, re edit with updates. This thing, after 14 years, still isnt done. :(

Be sure to see the end, or fast forward to it as that is the best part, the boot up.

I still have my Stacker STC-T01, its already setup for BTX just gotta throw hardware in there. Only problem is airflow is pretty limited in the big old cases. I am going to rob it of its castor wheels and put them on my PA602. After that I may recycle it since I do not see myself using it again.

Sucks nuts that I threw away my old Cosmos S. Would be a great case today with some modification etc., and would have a LOT of room for h2o stuff.

I threw away a fully loaded Stacker 830 silver and a black 690II Advanced. They were ok but to antiquated for my uses..

That Stacker looks like that its only weak side is the crappy possibilities of cable management. 690II would be insane for X58/Sandy/similar build :toast:

The Stacker was cool with its removeable mobo tray, and it looked nice. My problem was I was into big air coolers, the Stacker couldnt take my Le Grand Macho RT and True Spirit 140 Power, and the 690 couldn't take TS140P. But I had my R5 and Meshify C and the old Stacker at my moms.. so it was an easy choice really.. but yeah cable management on all of the CM cases that I had sucked.

I have a 690II downstairs in the Nerd Closet. Ye Olde Sandie Bridge Rigg is just waiting for the call to go back into service. Loved that case; I wanted to buy another when I built my current rig, but I couldn't find one.

Hello there, I'm finally closing to close the case which was open for over a year.
img9.jpg
I'm using old xps 630i case in which I've got so much pcb that I don't know even if i will use it (2 pcb with fans header and other stuff, I don't even know what for is pin header for SLAB debug hdr).
img8.jpg

I've ordered cheap chinese mesh for pci slots and cheap white plastic filter, which i need to cut to specific places.
img6.jpg
img5.jpg
img3.jpg

Unfortunatelly in this build Noctua 14 undustrial has no place. (that one in first photo.)
ps I lost brackets for cpu cooling to set it parallel to exhaust.
Edit. It's first time I guess in two years that back io shroud is finally in placy :D. end edit.
Edit 2. I love this case which has inverted mobo :D. end edit 2.

I'm so admiringly jealous of you for that G.Skill Black&Red you have over there. \m/
I looked for more than a year for a kit like that 3600mhz CL14 2x16GB and i would have paid double or triple the price back then just to have it.
To me it's the best looking RAM kit ever cretaed. I had to settle for the RipjawsV Black also 3600cl14, it's good and served flawlessly untill now but you know how it goes when you really like something.
Enjoy it, and tell that kit i love it! :)
