Seasonic released a special version of their Platinum offering with 1050 W capacity; it comes with a while paint job and is equipped with an FDB fan and a relaxed fan profile for less noise output, which will thrill users looking for a quiet high-performance PSU.

Working on parallel at some sites and the work load is huge :(

Great thanks none-the-less.

To pile on, any hope of seeing a review of the newish evga plat/gold 1kw/1050w? I may be mistaken, but I believe they are on the same platform and use (the accepted seasonic rebadge fan system of) 135mm fans, which to me *appears* ideal. The fact they are also pretty darn short (170mm) for that amount of power certainly has them on my short list when I upgrade to skylake (and likely a high-end gpu config)...but am waiting on a couple trusted reviews to hit the wind.

Just throwing it out there...I know you have a lot on your plate. :toast:

will talk with EVGA then :)

It is appreciated, sir.

I've seen exactly one (fairly generic) review of the plat, and I have trouble keeping up with which evga golds (they seem to have put out quite a few in a fairly short period of time, obviously some Superflower) I've seen. Certainly none have been done up to the level of completeness/competition shown by yourself/TPU (or remarked upon by the other sages that know their stuff at JG afaik).

I look forward to it...and if you do speak to evga, politely prod them to start including and/or selling flat leads! :)

Thanks again, and keep up the good work.

You stoleded my comment. Pretty indeed. Even though I am presently a general fan of anything not black and red.

The new EVGA SuperNova GS 550 and 650 watts are fully modular versions of the Seasonic G, the rest of the GS and PS series are Seasonic KM3 based units.
Or at least that is what EVGA Jacob told me they where.

I figured it was something to that effect, and thank you. Glad to see so many people in close contact with evga...that's reassuring.

It not being my forte' nor something I keep a close eye on, I didn't consider (although I should) the differences of km3, xm2 etc.

While it seems being tailored to lower wattages vs higher, is there anything about the km3 at the crossover of ~1kw that should be a concern? I suppose 12v may droop a little under a super heavy load, but I don't foresee myself doing that. I'm mostly hoping/planning for quiet/efficient with a 2x300w dual-card setup and overclocked cpu load (at max)...while keeping it short so I can grab a similar-ish htpc case to what I have now (something like a GD09/GD10).

The gold 1050w being $140AR at this moment looks somewhat intriguing, at least compared to similar competition by the likes of CM. That said, a short 1kw plat is also appealing (if it can actually perform that well consistently using that platform) if it isn't incredibly noisy.

Still the GS units aren't available in Europe (where I am located) so you will have to wait till you see a review of them...
