After the Viper V2 Pro, Razer also gives their DeathAdder a complete makeover. Aside from Razer's latest Focus Pro sensor capable of 30,000 CPI, up to 90 hours of battery life, and a lower weight of just 62 g, the DeathAdder V3 Pro also comes with an updated and refined shape, coupled with 4000 Hz HyperPolling compatibility.

I would suggest not adding things you completely not understand especially in conclusions as negative.

  • Charging could be faster

Charging a 300mAh cell at 0.5C is a perfectly reasonable engineering choice. It should not be faster.

I have CM MM731 which also charges using .5A but it still takes a lot longer than 1hr to charge(from 30% to ~90%). So it seems like having ability to use and charge simultaneously does push actual charge current much lower than .5A in turn leading to increased charge times.

I agree that it's a sensible choice, and the conclusion says as much. The decision to go with 0.5C was actually a democratic one: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/qs9541
Still, objectively speaking, charging isn't exactly fast, so I think it's fair to list it as a con.

Comparison photos taken from above, because of perspective, continue to be of little help. Even two identical mice would look different.
I'm open for suggestions how this could be improved.

And yet you point it out as negative? Let's get these things straight.

Fast charging negatives - Temperature, much higher BOM cost, needs monitoring for temperatures, much much shorter life span, less energy density.

Fast charging positives - only charges faster.

Slow/normal charging - higher energy density, much more charging cycles, simpler charging circuitry, cheaper, lighter, less monitoring needed.

Slow charging negative - only charges slower.

How is 2022 and Synapse still sucks?

Razer should redesign from scratch, has been 8 years and nothing has changed

I won't use Razer because of this crap.

And yet it isn't all that bad, given the other software that's out there? Gigabyte's RGB Fusion is an absolute joke, Armoury Crate is an STD in software form, iCUE is bloated as all hell and doesn't play nice with most of the other peripheral programs out there. Logi's G Hub is also crappy.

My point is, they're all bad, but some are FAR worse.

I'm open for suggestions how this could be improved.
By taking pictures of the mice individually and then placing them side by side.
It would take a grid background to maintain the proportions in post processing.

Browser was crashing all the time on my wife's PC. I did some investigating, turns out razer software was eating up more than 80% memory. Everything returned to normal after unistalling this bloatware. Problem is, you can't set polling rates without this crapware. This happened in 2022 with fresh software. Razer mice are awesome, shame they ruin it with their horrible software.

Good shape and performances, but too expensive, if nothing better appears until BF this year I might buy it. For my big hands, this shape is probably the best I've tried.

Actually, I like these pictures, is easy to compare the size. I'd like more pictures like these side by side with superlight, lamzu. How can two identical mice look different from above?
Also, the table with sizes is extremely helpful.

As said in the link, the weight would have been the same between a smaller capacity/faster charging and larger capacity/slower charging one. The same applies to cost, by the way. Furthermore, considering that a quarter of the participants voted for the former option, your opinion evidently isn't shared by everyone.

The reviewer doesn't review the engineering decisions made in designing the mouse. They review the mouse as it appears, because that's how the user reading the review will experience it. So get off your high horse and stop whining about a perfectly valid point.

How about not pretending that slow charging is a con? It is a misinformation for the consumer not a point of view.

It is a con for the consumer who wants their s**t to charge quickly so that they can use it faster. That is it. The consumer does not give a flying f**k about the fact that fast charging is less safe, or more expensive, or whatever.

Yup.

Was using an ASUS C7H (X470) that I swapped for a Gigabyte X570S. AI Suite 3 failed to uninstall with some sort of error message about service not found... I had to manually unregister the AI Suite services, then reboot and delete the install directory to get rid of it.

I understand that making simple and functional software is low on the list for hardware companies like motherboard manufacturers, but you'd at least hope one day they'll figure out that if you get chimps to write your software, you get software for chimps. Sadly that day hasn't come yet.

Razer has been pretty great for me, i am still using the same Deathadder Chroma that i bought in 2014-2015ish and it is still going stong and has not failed me until now.

I'll be extremely sad when the day comes where it dies.

I had earlier Deathadders when they were the only game in town with a flawless sensor. I RMA'd two because of manufacturing defects with the wheel on one, and the left-click on the other which is ignoring the creaky/flimsy build quality and the soft-touch coating that fell apart within months on all three mice. I thought it might just be my skin oils but in the 15+ years since then I've never had any other soft-touch mouse or keyboard get nasty and flake off like those early Deathadders. The Viper was a perfectly decent mouse but I couldn't control the LEDs without Synapse installed and Synapse is horrible.

My boycott of Razer is down to horrific customer support failing to honour their warranty. We bought £30,000 of laptops and one of them was damaged at the factory, the worker had used an extra one of their "warranty void if removed" labels as sticky tape to hold together the PCIe slot they cracked when they rammed the WiFi NIC in with zero care. They refused to accept the photo evidence and wanted €1100 to replace the motherboard. I couldn't be bothered to file a small-claims case, though it would have been a guaranteed win. Instead I've just refused to buy any Razer again. That's probably going to cost them $50K in lost sales a year for as long as I'm the IT procurement manager for multiple companies - in addition to whatever negative impact me whining about them on forums has. You only have to read about the successful small-claims cases against Razer all over Reddit to know that they're pretty shady as a business...
