How can a Case this big not support 140mm fans? I guess this case is all about looks though.

"For the cases, the out-of-the-box fan setup is used, connected to the motherboard, with the board adjusting fan speed automatically. This puts the onus of noise and performance on the case manufacturers and motivates them to actually care about thermal performance instead of simply using active cooling as a marketing bulletin point."

I think that the measurements are taken w/o any fans at all (like it comes in the box)

The 140 mm fans can be put at the bottom of the chassis.

The extremely large case falls short; why not naturally support 12.2 x 13" Motherboards such as the Asus WRX 80 Pro - AMD Threadripper Pro?

I understand the need for a complete out of box comparison, but I think you should also consider adding at least 2 fans to the standardized setup, like GN does it. Makes cases without fans look completely awful.

They are there to look cool, not move air.

Smaller fans means you can put more of them in the case!

They would take too much space away from the fans.

A good suggestion for Phanteks.

Looking at the noise output, the fans are one of the quietest of the tested cases.
Maybe they runs slowly for purpose and make less noise ?
Theses are D-30 120 fans, runs 250 / 2000 rpm (+/- 10 %)
The max airflow is between 61.5 to 64.3 CFM (there is 2 versions of the fans, in order reversed and regular)
The max Air pressure is 2.72 (reversed) and 3.01 mm H20 (regular)

That's actually disappointing that they do it like that. I'd wait for reviews like Gearseekers or Hardware Canucks that do better thermal testing in some sort of realistic setup.

If the front was mesh and included a radiator mount, it would be amazing. The temperatures would be fantastic.

I agree, and it would cause the case to be more profound.
Personally, they could have really stepped this case up. I see a lot of potentials missed in this one.

Todays cases are not designed for airflow but are designed to show off a premium PC build. The ideal situation is not this sort of side fan stuff that's just showing off. But a straight front to back with maybe a non fanned exhaust on the top. Also glass is an insulator where metal is a condutor. This means the glass is going to keep heat trapped in, and also let light which creates heat in, where a solid metal case will help radiate it out.

All this stuff is so you can bling it out and then post pictures of it on forums. Which makes sense because that's what PC gaming really is.

Phanteks also sent us the latest iteration of their AMP 1000 power supply. These are designed in conjunction with Seasonic and the V2 is an ATX 3.0 PSU with a 12VHPWR connector. Even so, it is quite compact and fits easily within the Phanteks NV7, as the chassis may hold a unit of up to 255 mm in length without compromises.

Amp V2 is not ATX 3.0. A presence a 12VHPWR cable doesn't mean a PSU is ATX 3.0.

I'm not a fan of glass cases either, but light is not a contributor to thermals unless you're leaving it in the sun. The conductive contribution of metal vs. glass is nigh-negligible weighed against the active cooling. You're on point about showing off, though.

Damn, I am looking for smaller not bigger, seems this look is the almost new norm. My P600s is more than I can handle now.

I'm in an area that gets sunlight all the time pouring in so glass stuff is a no go. There's also a reason why your glass mugs for hot drinks stay cold to the touch and the metal ones will burn your hand off.

Crazy to think that this massive case costs less than my Evolv X. My Evolv X is right on the cusp of what I'm able to lift. Couldn't imagine having to lift this humongous thing. And clean it too, with all that glass!

You guys are missing the point. Phanteks is convinced RTX 5000-SERIES cards are going to be as big as mid-tower cases.... Phanteks is preparing early hehe. Oh and not liking the thermal tests on this one. Maybe case fans mounted closer to CPUs/GPUs achieves better results?

In the last couple of years i've developed admiration for going smaller. Was gonna grab a NR200P and use my HDDs as external units but nah decided to stick with compact mid-towers or smaller mATX anamolies (maybe a window-less AP201 ~but me like window, me like some internal aesthetic, me like some subtle lighting... any AP201 tampered glass variants on the horizon?)
