i did the same thing. i was planning on just getting another one and i tried to turn it on and it worked again. I've been using mine nonstop since i got a zune pass so i thought i burnt it out lol.

screw any player that forces me to use proprietary software to put my files on the damn thing!!!

cowan,archos,iriver,samsung and on and on all offer far better value and u can just drag and drop ur files onto them

oh yeah and they support more formats such as ogg vorbis and flac where zune and ipod play wma/wmv/mp3/aac(mp4/m4a/m4b), sucks since those formats are crap

Try my suggestion above KainXS and put it into recovery mode, then plug it into your PC, fire up Zune and let it recover the firmware.
