I guess it competes with the current gen 4060, but other than that it's a rather boring release, goes well with the theme of recent releases like the ti super, just a refresh, nothing more.
Incredible to see how well RDNA2 has aged in terms of price to performance, probably because of the still overflowing stock, add to that the declining prices, and you've got yourself a bargain.

Thanks for the great review! It's interesting that the extra VRAM doesn't incur a power cost; the power consumption in video playback and multi monitor scenarios is the same as the RX 7600. @W1zzard is it using 32Gbit GDDR6 devices?

that is very generous estimate. from 16x to 8x only effects a 4090 by 2% this car it will be 0.

Mostly to raise awareness for people on platforms with Gen 3. If you look at the list and decide "this doesnt matter to me" (for any entry), then I've done my job. vs you buying the card "because omgz 16 gb" and you realize it runs surprisingly slow on in your old dell

Not exciting by any means, but at least it retails less than what a 3060Ti ever did. If it came in at $299 it would be a lot more attractive. If I was looking for a GPU in the $300-400 price range, I can still get my hands on a new 6750XT for $380.

Uhm, what do you mean, that's pretty high for a 7000 series card, they're all limited by power anyway, the GPUs can clock very high.

Also 11% is a very good overlock in general even historically speaking.

I mean 3200 MHz is a bare minimum for N33 to be worth spending 330 dollars on it. This GPU is horribly slow for $330. Being eh percent faster than 4060 is enough to justify $200 but not $330.

How much faster do you expect it to be for 30$ more lol ? Twice as fast ? You people are ridiculous, imagine unironically saying you think this card should be 200$. Nah bro, screw it, it should be free, no shipping fee as well.

And people wonder why are video cards so absurdly expensive, it's bound to happen when one company is expected to sell their products for nothing and the other just cranks up the price every time they release something and people are fine with it.

Maybe I am, maybe I am not.
However, 4060 offers:
• DLSS. These GPUs are not ideal for the most demanding AAA projects so upscaling is basically a given. And FSR is HORRIBLE at 1080p (at 1440p, it's also nothing to write home about). DLSS is also fugly but not nearly as much (at 1440p, it's bearable).
• Much better energy efficiency = you don't need to upgrade your "Perdoon" 400 W PSU.
• Much smaller size = you don't need to buy a bigger PC case or vandalise your current one for this to fit. If you think this and the previous points don't matter I dare to remind you we're talking the lowest tier gaming GPUs on the market. They are bought for a reason and this reason usually is the opposite of having a kW PSU and a Notorious B.I.G. sized chassis.
• Much better RT performance (this doesn't actually matter at this point but you can't deny it).
• Better DX9/10/11 and day 0 game support = you can plug'n'play and you don't need to wait for driver developers to fix such errors.
This all contributes to about 25% discount being sensible for AMD GPUs. +8% raster speed * 75% = 81% price = about 245 USD. This is how much 7600 XT should've cost.

Also, 6700 XT is ~14% faster on average despite being same price.

Everytime I see a test comparing Pci speeds it is always with top of the line cards.

A completely pointless product, made just to fill the gap in a messed up product line where the 7900XT should have been the 7800XT for the appropriate price.
They were hesitant to name the previous RX 7600 as the XT model because reviewers would then compare it to the 6600XT more often and it would be viewed as even worse of an option at launch. Then, here we are now, same GPU core, 16GB of RAM and slight clock increases. At least they aren't asking as much of a premium as nV did with the 4060Ti 16GB.

I don't hate it; It's faster than I expected so the $70-80 price bump over the street price of the $7600 isn't actually so hard to swallow.

Is AMD still making the 6700XT/6750XT?

I remember when the 7800XT and 7700XT arrived, AMD's official stance was that they'd stopped production of the 6800 and above, but that cheaper RDNA2 cards were still in production - so everything from the 6400 to the 6750XT.

I'm wondering if I've missed the announcement from AMD that the 6700-series is being discontinued now?

It's 6nm, my guy, so it's clock is actually pretty impressive. Not a great card (outside 1080p), but still impressive in that regard.

As I've said before, wait for tiny Navi 4...I have a feeling you'll get your 3200mhz (at stock, and probably closer to 3500mhz OC). I would be incredibly surprised if AMD prices it over $300 and it doesn't compete (beat in raster after OCing bc conceivable 4060 Ti Super; 4608sp) the 4060 Ti 16GB, which essentially is a match for a PS5. I suppose this is, and that is/will be slightly better if you really want to mince hairs. Still, prolly worth it for the power/cost savings, let-alone performance bump.

In that price range it's absolutely worth springing for a used 6800xt, if not 7800xt (or wait for a price drop). The latter will get cheaper eventually. As Tom pointed out in this pretty wonderful conversation (those cats really need to combine/partner channels and kindly request some AIBs send them cards [to keep] for review imo...A guy can dream), it's likely Big Navi 4 (which I *think* will be ~$550-600 at launch, perhaps in June [6/4, first day of Computex would be a swell and coincidental date...cuz you know....64....CUs (big) and SPs (small)...maybe...Makes as much sense as 7/7/19 for 7nm CPU/GPUs]) will drop to $500 because of pressure from the *probably* $600 lower-end GB205 by EOY or so. It's crazy how fast current options are going to depreciate because so many options are coming in that range (including the PS5 pro).

Where does that leave 7800xt? At <$400 pricing, as Navi 2 stock should be gone by that point and that'd probably be proportional to small Navi 4 in price/perf if $300 and big Navi 4 at $500. Obviously your perogative on how long you want to wait. Now is a bad time to buy new (unless you want to invest in a 7900xt) imho. The important thing to remember is that AMD clocked 7800xt in the gutter at stock for a reason, and that's so it can be sold cheaply compared to everything else while not threatening the rest of their stack at any given point (for instance they always wanted people to be inclined to buy a 7900xt rather than a 7800xt versus 4070 Ti 12GB), likely even ACROSS generations.

There's always Battlemage as well. Who knows when it will come, who knows if anyone will want to buy it, but it probably will have some pricing effect in that approximate market as well if it comes sooner than later...Should be some good bargains to be had at that point methinks.
