The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming OC comes with an improved triple-fan cooler and features a dual BIOS, so you can enable "quiet" mode. Gigabyte was also generous with the power limit, you can run at up to 450 W, which is the highest of all the cards tested today.

1.8kg and no I/O plate weight transfer. Absolutely junk cooler, card will die if not properly supported (see the Founder cards).

Then an open I/O plate for no good reason, there is no airflow there. Will only allow unfiltered air into the system.

The cheapest 4080 Supers were around 999€ (inc. Vat) in my country. This card (I guesstimate) will be around 1350 € (inc. Vat). Around 11% performance increase for 35% price increase. YIKES

and this is one of the "cheaper" models right now

With VAT, 1000eur is actually a substantial discount from MSRP. The 5080 will probably come down over time.

The only interesting thing is the 450W powerlimit.
1.8kg and no I/O plate weight transfer.
It does have some, but it is by pressing the IO plate against the shroud.

Wasn't Gigabyte the manufactorer with the most tears in the PCB? Bad weight management and cutout on the PCIe slot.

Yeah, they also denied all the warranties for those so I'm very hesitant to trust them again

Again, only MSRP card is the Windforce model, not the Gaming model, so of course Gigabyte doesn't supply the Windforce for review....

:banghead:

No, I'm not paying a $300 CAD premium for the Gaming OC model...

Hope to see everyone around here again in March when the RTX 5080 actually launches.

They did previously but if it's the same cooler you probably got your answer.

Unless Gigabyte is using a very sticky & cheap thermal putty, then it should be very easy to reformulate and re-use, without ever having to worry about thermal pads cracking, leaking oil, drying out etc...

The bigger issue with Gigabyte's designs is the garbage fans they use, these temps, at nearly 40dBA is terrible.

Perhaps the AORUS MASTER models will fare better, Gigabyte's product page makes a big point about how those 'Hawk Fans' are meant to be so much better.
