A PC case without his GPU :(

SAPPHIRE RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X 24GB for the last 3 weeks. It’s a beautiful graphic card but the one I received that was not it Chief... New complete installation of Windows, drivers, Adrenaline OC / no overclock... Stress tests of 20 Loop 3dMark, Furmark 1H, Cinebench R23 no limit etc. No hassles and artifacts. And in game gray screen at least once a day and crash. Fuck it, referral to Amazon. Bought it for €1180, which is a significant premium from Sapphire compared to the MSRP of the 7900xtx. Let's not forget the taxes in Europe which are putting it deep in our ass.

I'm feverishly awaiting the reviews of the 4070 Ti Super and 4080 Super.

Curious to see how all this translate in games :)

And you people on TPU, do you already have 4090s and this is going over your head ?

If you're considering spending $1000, then it's the 4080 Super.

7900 XTX is right out as the 4080 Super should perform equal or better in every way and the extra VRAM doesn't save it.
7900 XT at $710 is a reasonable "budget" item in this class.
4070 Ti SuperXTProMega is a wait and see. If prices only get to $850 and not $800 then pass but if there are reasonable models at $800, then maybe?

It's the best GPU of this generation, I reckon. 4090 I don't really count, too expensive and on a league of its own

I'm a 1440p high refresh rate gamer with quality settings cranked up... hence easily voting in the 4080 SUPER over the 4070 TI. Its a tricky one though, would I buy a 4080 SUPER? Nah, not for $1000.... I've confined myself to ~$800 (or ~£800) and cant see myself shifting north of that self-prescribed limit. The 7900XTX falls in second place but again can't see AMD discounting this SKU @ <£800 either... well not anytime soon.

For the first time price is the new true performance valuation for me... i'm just not prepared to be conditioned into accepting a 70-class GPU pegged up to $800. What does next Season look like, a 5060 TI SUPER for $700?? (ya ya ya the riff raff and inflation inflation...blah blah... gimme a break!)

I'm gonna carry my 2080 TI and 3080 until the pixelation and screen tearing rips holes in my panel before considering an upgrade anytime soon (tissues pls).

Since you are in France people should know the prices there in order to make valid suggestions

Is pcpartpicker(for France) prices a place to start?

Personally I'd rather have the 4070ti super over the 7900XTX.... To me it depends on how much faster the 4080 super is over it, if it's let's say 20%+ then sure.

When amd massively improves upscaling image quality and RT performance I'll have no problem jumping ship.

4070ti S, it fixes the 12GB problem at the lowest price point for Ada.

You're late in gen, don't overspend on Ada anymore, get a strong bang/buck offering. In Ada's high end, the only one you have then is the 4070ti S. The rest is horse manure or too expensive, especially in 2024.
Everything else is bullshit (or put differently: 'emotion over sense'). In GPUs there is only good GPU balance (core/vram/bandwidth), and value for money. Time fixes everything else you thought was relevant.

If the 7900XT drops to 650-700, that might also be a strong alternative. Other than that? Meh. I guess you don't want a 7800XT at this point anymore.

Yeah agreed. Ada on 16GB is just great, I still can't for the life of me understand why they neutered almost the entire stack with 12 and made it shit. With low bandwidth on top, mind.

It's not really a GPU anyway, rather the Terminator.
With low bandwidth on top
That's the only issue with these 4070s. 12 GB is a lot for a 4070, reasonable for a 4070 Super and borderline, yet still acceptable for a 4070 Ti. I agree with 16 GB being better but this is not as big of a deal as many think it is. The main benefit will come from +33% memory bandwidth rather than from extended capacity.

I personally already have a couple AMD GPUs (RX 480 and 6700 XT) and I'm planning on yet another AMD GPU purchase (only driven by pure YOLO, that'll be a 6900 XT). If I had an urge to upgrade I'd unload my money on a 4070 Ti Super. I don't know what I need to do to run out of 16 GB of VRAM and with DLSS at Performance in mind, I will be more than happy to play at 4K for a long while. RT is also what I want but I am realistic about that and currently, even the almighty 4090 doesn't do a particularly great job in this department. After my retirement in late 2050s or early 2060s, perhaps... But not in 2024, that's for sure.

Yeah, honestly even if it's only 10-15% faster than the vanilla 4070ti overall it went from one of my least favorite cards to a pretty decent option assuming 799 usd or very near it.

Disclaimer for 4070ti owners enjoying their cards I'm not saying 12GB isn't enough for the majority of gaming scenarios I'm just not a fan of it on a 800+ usd gpu it's pathetic. Vram shouldn't even be a consideration if spending that much or more.

They limit vram on lower models to ensure people upgrade every generation or at least every other at a min. They take care of you if you are grabbing 80 tier or above but below that they just don't care. Obviously that business model has worked wonders... On the flip side AMD sticking loads of vram hasn't seemed to work out for them when it comes to overall sales most gamers seem to want 4060/3060/2060 and I'm sure the 5060 whenever it comes out regardless of how good or bad the products actually are.

Amd seems to be going back to the 5000/500/400 game plan which is a shame. I do hope whatever mid tier 500-600 option at least crushes it in that segment though even though that's typically below what I purchase for my personal machines.

I am looking to replace my 7900 XT and I voted 4080 Super because I probably will just splash those extra 200 but I am not sure yet till I see reviews

I want back to Nvidia because many of the early access games I play runs poorly with AMD, most of them runs slower than with my old 3080, including emulators, and most AAA games have DLSS and all those RTX features as well

$800 for the 4070 Ti S seems steep but then again the RTX 3080 Ti 12GB had a MSRP of $1200.

I paid that for my 7900 XT about 6 months ago, and I would gladly trade, still considering super refreshes unless I can wait till 5000 series. Not sure yet.

AMDs focus on lesser popular titles is lacking alot from my experience

And FSR needs improvements as well, not too impressed by AMD FMF either

I'm in front of buying a new GPU. I need one with a water cooling block. I will wait a few month to see which blocks are available. If no6t i will get over to AMD and take a 7800XT/7900XT.

It's already leaked: 4070 Ti Super is averaging 108% performance of the original 4070 Ti which is just enough to match 7900 XT in pure raster. 4080 Super will average no more than 107% of the original 4080 which is just enough to virtually never fall behind 7900 XTX in pure raster.

Well vRAM is nice to have but in reality very few people needs 16gb even for 4K gaming with ray tracing enabled.

4070 series are selling very well, not sure why you think it's shit, unless you are an AMD fanboy. Most people don't play games at 4K and they will be fine with 12gb for years.

AMD have the exact opposite situation going. Alot of vRAM but lacking GPU power and features/drivers. Meaning you will never really be able to utilize the vRAM anyway. Ray tracing takes alot of vRAM but AMD can't do RT anyway properly. Most pc gamers don't care about RT either.

I am downgrading in terms of vRAM soon, I don't care. From 7900 XT to 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super. Can't wait to run all my games without issues.

I just hope I can sell my 7900 XT for 500 dollars with all the price drops going..

SAPPHIRE RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X 24GB….
…..Bought it for €1180, which is a significant premium from Sapphire compared to the MSRP of the 7900xtx. Let's not forget the taxes in Europe which are putting it deep in our ass.
1180€ is about 1285$ with current exchange value.
Now you have to de-VAT (20% in your case) that also, and doing this it’s equivalent to 1070$
US PCpartpicker has the Nitro+ for 1060$.

I bought the same card in my local market for 1130€ a month ago and if you de-VAT this with 24% in my country then it’s equivalent to 993$.

The thing is that here in my local market a nice 4080 nonS has 1400-1500€ and 4070Ti nonS 1200€.
4090 cheapest AIB models start from 2000€

It's already leaked: 4070 Ti Super is averaging 108% performance of the original 4070 Ti which is just enough to match 7900 XT in pure raster. 4080 Super will average no more than 107% of the original 4080 which is just enough to virtually never fall behind 7900 XTX in pure raster.
Sometimes the reviews tell a different story than the leaked benchmarks.

True and 3DMark performance don't always translate directly to gaming performance 1:1

I expect 4070 Ti Super to beat 7900 XT and 4080 Super to beat 7970 XTX in raster tho.

All they need is 5-10% which is also what rumours are saying, 6-8-10% is what I am reading

If someone sold me a 4070 Ti 12GB for 600 I would probably just pick that, I don't really need those extra 4GB and 4070 Ti Super at 800 dollars uhm yeah sure, but I might just splash 200 more and get the full AD103 die then in 4080 Super

it fixes the 12GB problem at the lowest price point for Ada.
It was only a problem for arm chair reviewers, not for the ones who actually own the hardware.
