hmmm that 32" TV is only 1366 X768 pixels resolution... youd be fine with any 4800 series card to be honest even the 512mb versions

and also you should have into account your psu, as both 4870 and 4890 need 2x6-pins conectors

yeah it is, but if i get that HDTV, and use the HDMI port from the 4890 to the HDTV i would get a 1920 x 1080 resolution right? im a n00b to this HD buisness.

Nope that monitor you linked is a 1366 x 768 which is it's highest resolution

Here is a 1200p monitor that my friend has that is incredibly mint. It's 28" but it's still huge and has perfect picture quality imo.

i was looking for at HDTV where i could watch tv, and plug in my PS3 and use as a monitor aswell. looks like im not going to get that for a low price :|

Mine cost £500 for a 32" that could do that. With a HDMI switcher you could have your ps3 but as for TV it can't do that.

hmm, my brothers can :S

and it was at the same resolution as this HDTV, but it produces a 1080p signal through HDMI when he is playing his PS3, thats why i was thinking that this could do the same?

I can force 1080p through my TV even though it's natively 1080i (1366 x 768) - I only use my HDTV for when my GF and I are watching films.

The 4890 is not THAT much faster than the 4870. I would save my money for the 5000 series man. Why not? If they are two much the 4890s will be cheaper anyway ;)

1.) Wait, prices drop.

2.) Get either a 4850 or a 4870 or even a 4890 as 1366 x 768 is more than enough for them to do.

3.) Get a 58xx card if your budget allows.

I say, whatever your budget is, look up reviews for all the cards mentioned (excluding the 58xx... obviously) and see if the games you play are benched. See where they come and weigh up the pros and cons against each other.

As for the original question of a 4870 x 4890 - I'd say, get either a decent 4870 or the cheapest 4890. ;)

I'd say get the one I have in my system specs. 4 GHz mem. clock for tha win. (It's only like $180 on the Egg now) Also, I know when the 5000 series comes out the prices of the 4000 series will drop, but the new ones will be hella expensive and the old ones will still be good and work great so it doesn't really matter. Prices will always be changing and dropping.

yeah man... dont wait, if you want it now and have the cash, just buy it now... becuase yes, something better will arrive, but soon after that something else etc... etc...
At £140, that 4890 is a steal! and its effortesly powering all my games with AA and AF in 1920X1200 (whereas my 4870 did struggle a bit in some areas).

i'd wait a bit longer to see how the new 5-series does. although there recently have been price cuts for the 4850 and 4870, there could be more along the way when the 5-series hit the shelves.
