"Reveal" not release.

I guess a lot will depend on how long you are prepared to wait to build the thing want. Personally, I like to wait for reviews of products before I jump in, if I do. Stability is also another factor. You don't want a setup that's problematic.
Absolutely, I'm looking for the first quarter of 2023 to build it. No way am I waiting outside of like 5-6 months though. (I've already put it off due to covid and other issues for a few years now.)

4K 120FPS i do that now with 5600x and a 3080TI. I think you should scale back on the CPU to a 12600KS and wait for a new GPU.

Yeah, sorry not that power-hungry sand square. Especially since I'm only building it in the first quarter of 2023 and have a large budget.

You should read some, its not bad in power while gaming and will get you where you need to go cheaper than an AMD solution. The next gen AMD and Intel chips will use more power than the current chips. At 4k you will be limited by the GPU anyways. GL

My gut feeling is that a 7600X will more than saturate any GPU at 4K. You could then wait for a X3D part to increase 1% lows if they are a concern.

Agreed, I do want some good prosumer performance though.

For 4K120 definitely prioritize the gpu in any budget. For longevity purposes I'd probably stick with AM5 as well if buying late this year or early next but don't feel bad about grabbing a 7600X and then selling it when X3D models arrive later....

120hz is already pretty easy on any modern cpu there are some outliers when using heavy RT at the same time or Flight Simulator that don't but then again someone using RT shouldn't expect 4k120 anyway and I doubt that'll change with next gen cards unless using DLSS/FSR2

Agreed. I do want some headroom with the CPU though. Maybe I could do it within the return window and then switch to x3d. Even then, I'll figure something out as AM5 has the best upgrade path and from the leaks looks like a beast. (Wait for reviews anyways lol.)

Judging by the better upgrade path I would have to go with AM5. Even if it means I have to deal with being a guinea pig for AGESA. (Ofc after reviews!) I wonder when GPUs will release though. :)

Alright guys, I'm back!

Currently, I've got:
Case: Fractal Design Torrent Black Tempered Glass
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X -
Mobo: ASRock X670E Steel Legend
Ram: G.SKILL Flare X5 Series AMD EXPO 2 x 16GB DDR5 6000@CL36
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 420
SSD: WD 1TB SN770
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W
Screen: AORUS FO48U 48"

Now, you might notice I'm missing something. The GPU.

I'm looking for an RTX 4090. I can maybe pay scalpers but it needs to have a transferable warranty and or returns.

The question is I don't know which one I should get. AIO GPUs are out of the question. I've read reviews but I don't have any actual experience with any of the companies regarding returns or warranties.

Are the air-cooled MSIs any good? In fact, PNY is in stock at below 1900. (Stupid pricing still.)

Here in the states no company has a transferable warranty afaik so if you buy from a scalper you're screwed if the card breaks. I'm not sure how other countries work when it comes to this though.

EVGA offered transferable warranties but they decided to cut ties with Nvidia....

Before purchasing a GPU, I would still wait for the RX 7900 XTX's performance figures, especially if you play MW2. That game is having the 6800 perform like a 3090 Ti, it's insane. The cards will launch mid December, so until then I'd hold with what you have just for a while longer :)

4090 is widely available in most places now. You shouldn't have a problem to get one.

If money is no object looks a good build. Possibly up the PSU but that's about it.

It's still really hard to get an MSRP one in my area. In checkout and poof.

The PSU is limited by the delivery date and my house's circuit breaker. (5 rooms connected to one.) All of the good 1000 watts are coming in December which is not an option.

@Why_Me Playing at 4k here. Also, I might lasso the game or whatever to one CCD.
