Don't forget to tape off the pins before you paint!

I can't speak to the quality of the brand but don't be disappointed if you have to drop to 3200MT/s by chance although I think generally 2x16GB dual rank can do 3600MT/s. I had an LPX kit that did that just fine with 5950x. (edit) 4x16GB and 4x32GB at 3200MT/s was doable with all 3 of my 5950x but YMMV.

On my 5950x it's happy gaming at 60fps with 2x32GB 3200MT/s CL22 ECC so I think you could still be fine with normal 32GB 3200MT/s CL22 Crucial kit for a bit cheaper if cost really needs to be tight under $50. (edit) oof prices are up nevermind on that.

If you want the best price. I would honestly look on the second hand market. A lot of people were basically throwing them away when AM5 came along. I dont think the retail price on DDR4 is going to get any cheaper as they are pretty rock bottom already. DDR5 prices will and probably have dropped and will continue to drop as everyone starts to get on board with it and it becomes the norm.

You can get some pretty bank for buck options on ebay of FB market place. You might even be able to snag a 32 or 64GB kit for very little money.

Never heard of GIGASTONE before. 3600 MHz is no guarantee since the memory controller is rated up to 3200MHz (source). That is with two single rank dimms!

With four single rank dimms it is still possible to hit 3600MHz but you have no guarantee it will work.
The chances with four dual rank dimms at 3600MHz is smaller.

My advice buy 3200CL16 2x32GB and not 3600CL18 4x16GB.

3400 at cas 14 is the best i can do on my 5800x with 4 dimms. I wouldn't bet on being able to run 4 dimms at 3600, but your mileage may vary.

Here is a similar kit on Amazon, but G.skill and black for a few dollars cheaper.

Seems I didn't read carefully enough. If presented the choice I'd do 2x32GB instead of 4x16GB.

Retail DDR4 is currently cheaper than second-hand, at least in the UK; I just picked up a set of 2x 32GB DDR4-4000 for under £100 off Amazon.

cool, ordered 2 of those sets. people are assuming too much. im not in the usa and dont have those sets in links available me . and the other ones I do, I dont give a crep to pay the premium for them. its fine, worse comes to worse I return them. im not looking for blistering speeds but just xmp or just a bit less, im fine.

there are also brands on my black list of no buy. so they arent options. crucial/micron/corsair. I dont touch. theres a [price premium for 2x32gb and I dont care to pay that. prices were supposed to go down. didnt, they went up. I dont conform so screw them. and thats where im at.

3400 at cas 14 is the best i can do on my 5800x with 4 dimms
thats awesome. im happy with that or a bit higher cas ill be happy. Im not trying to squeeze out water from a rock.

That will void your warranty.
HAHAHA. thats not stopping me. just on spite when people say dont or warn me, I always do the opposite. ill dip it in hammerite haha

If you want the best price. I would honestly look on the second hand market
I did, but the folks here think their gear is some limited edition item. like are you serious..youre selling for more then I can buy from amazon new. and they say, well I paid double that. so I ask " does it still have warranty?" they say no. so your price isnt relevant. what you sell used with no warranty cant sell for more then I can buy new with. even if from amazon, I have some warranty.

My point was that it is unlikely that you'll be able to do 3600 with 4 dimms. Especially not without being very choosy about memory, and really tweaking the heck out of it. I wouldn't hold my breath with no-name ram.

We could do a better job of making recommendations if we knew what country you are in and what the rest of your system is.

This is a great memory tuning guide.

On my 5950x it's happy gaming at 60fps with 2x32GB 3200MT/s CL22 ECC so I think you could still be fine with normal 32GB 3200MT/s CL22 Crucial kit for a bit cheaper if cost really needs to be tight under $50. (edit) oof prices are up nevermind on that.
yea, I bought the 3600x2 sets because even if I cant get 3600 (if I get 3200 thats fine) then later I can use 2 of those sticks in other pc if need be.

prices have jumped through the roof and Im not conforming just cause I need ram, like people are getting ripped off with gpus. couldnt find 3090 for a decent price so got a 2080ti for a great price. so thats where im at. ill always find some alternative, and if not, I have no issue to wait. Im really strict with what I set out with prices. I wont buy at all if need be.

I ran 4 dimms for like 5 years on AM4 no problem, up to 1900 1:1 on most of my CPUs, one would do 1933 with 4 sticks.

Nice. No such luck here. I could get 3600, but required more voltage than what i was comfortable with to be stable. It was my daily driver at the time.

couldnt find normal prices on x570 when I was looking for a mb

cant wait to see how awesome it;ll suck on my b550 haha. hopefully 3200 at case 18
It was on B550 where I could do 1933 with 4 sticks, on x570 it was pretty much 1866 1:1..

Try it.. it might work out well for you, or it might suck.. I tried 4 sticks of DDR5 and it was not pleasurable when it came to overclocking.

Wendell said 4800ish, nailed it since that was as high as I could get. But some guys can do 6000. Just the way it is.. :shadedshu:

IMO just stop chasing the optimum RAM on a budget.

Yes, DDR4-3600 CL16 was at one point a sweet spot for Zen3 but realistically you will be lucky to find a well-priced kit of that these days. 3600 CL18 is okay but both slower and typically more expensive than the common, garden-variety DDR4-3200 CL16. In all but the most stringent average result after multiple runs testing , you'd be unlikely to spot the difference, since Zen3 is limited by absolute latency and 3600/CL18 is the exact same latency as 3200/CL16. Sure, in a synthetic bandwidth-limited scenario, the 3600 kit would give you a 1-2% advantage, but it doesn't really work like that with real games or software on Zen3.

If you want set-and-forget reliability stick to 3200 CL16. It's everywhere, it's dirt cheap, 99% of Zen3 processors can handle it even at XMP (Intel-specific) preset timings.

What country are you in? I'm assuming (possibly incorrectly) that you're in the US where plenty of 3200 CL16 kits are available in black, for less money from Corsiar, GSkill, Teamgroup, to name a few. The kit you picked is nothing special, and apparently not priced any differently to other options, whilst also being the wrong colour.

Those are 18-22-22-42 timings. The following would be better at 16-19-19-39 and only $4 more per set.
For DDR4 3600, never go with timings higher than CL16, especially when considering...

Nothing shameful about that setup at all. Remember, we are long passed the time when hardware that was a couple years old was obsolete. It hasn't been that way in a long time. Your system is still what I would call "choice". Very good indeed.

https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-PC4-28800-3600MHz-Ripjaws-16-19-19-39/dp/B07Z45XB3G For DDR4 3600, never go with timings higher than CL16, especially when considering...
I mentioned above that that many items arent available to be shipped to me. very limited items and I have a shet selection. also, I dont care to pay the price premium. but "other options" a seller is selling them at $88 for 2 sticks of 16, and im never desperate to be screwed. I simply will walk away and ill find a different option. not many 3600 options available. and those that are have a high premium price and Im not buying them

I already ordered 2 sets as I noted above

I ran 4 dimms for like 5 years on AM4 no problem, up to 1900 1:1 on most of my CPUs, one would do 1933 with 4 sticks.
We're the rare ones, also my 5800X didn't mind when I used 32 + 16 kits @ 3200MHz, worked hella fine :)

it was said 2 months ago in articles all around that ram prices should come down 10% or so for ddr4 .have not seen that

im looking for the best price and no OC performance but just xmp speeds. not many options shown to my address country so this is an option that came up. order 2 of these sets. cant tell if its dual this or that. I have no idea with ram, but 3600 is what I wanted. cant find 3600 2x32 at a good price so this is where we are at

I wont mention the mb. but b550, cpu 5950x. for video editing. for some gaming. a shameful gamer by a gamer standard. 60fps is bliss for me

how are these sticks? white which is ugly as hell for pc components but perhaps ill spray paint it black to hide the hideousness.

any help appreciated on THESE sticks. I know folks will come in and say get this or that brand. the prices have jumped too high so they arent options.
I ordered 2 sets. I dont live in the usa.

I mentioned above that that many items arent available to be shipped
You make a lot of these "what should I buy?" threads. It would be very helpful to have some idea of your location and system specs. We could waste less of your time, and provide info relevant to you. We don't need your address, but at least some idea of what amazon portal you are using. Locally relevant content is tricky with no locale.

i'm not trying to be a jerk. Just tying to be helpful and create less "i can't get those" replies.

I don't think anyone has those sticks. I been doing this nearly 30 years and never heard of them. It's probably either samsung, micron, or hynix. Anyone's guess.
