B550 has a pretty good reputation don't be ashamed to share what motherboard model you have.couldnt find normal prices on x570 when I was looking for a mb

Will you be fine tuning your ram or just downclocking if necessary? If simply downclocking readjusting timings by preserving relative timings in nanoseconds is pretty effective without having to put a lot of work into it since your pretty much staying in spec of the ram kits capabilities out of the box.
For example I have a cheat sheet I use and here I mapped out probable paths based on 3600 CL16.
You can some cases are better than others in latency when down clocking.
