$500~ dollar gaming PC?

Can someone give me some good part to use to build a good gaming pc for around $500?
Please no "Hurr durr you cant build a pc for 500 dollars you have to spend at least $5,000!".
I'm not looking to play Crysis 2 on max graphics, just maybe WoW on close to max or something around there. Any help is appreciated!

You'll have to look for bundle deals...there's a few good ones out there that'll have ya covered, but usually OS is not included. That means with Win7 purchased, you only have $400 for hardware.

I actually already have Win7 that I got from my buddy who bought it but ended up pirating it (go figure) so thats covered.

Edit: Im actually building a PC from scratch, sadly I dont have any older parts. Basically i've been using a POS laptop that i've been borrowing for the past couple years, and its time for an upgrade.

I use to be able to do this sort of rig for $350 or less between rebates, bundles, and a deal I got on a few dozen vista business keys... but this was a few years ago. Don't know if it still works now.

Yes you can. It won't take much g-card or processor, and since you won't need something big there a cheap (but good quality) psu is possible. I would go AMD on a build of this price level.

Yeah the basics im probably going to be playing are minecraft, oblivion, TF2, WoW and more. Again im not looking to play Crysis on maxed out, but I would like to be able to run most newER games on medium graphics. What could that rig handle?

I'd say wait for some more input, I'm working on one myself but the budget is relentless...

Best I could do. There's a $6 promo code on the PSU too, that brings it down to $503. I'm sure someone will point out some stuff, but I think that's pretty damn close.

I had thought the card came with a molex adapter but I can't see it in any pics. Otherwise the psu should be fine. I've never had a rosewill fail in a build. Though after taking another look there is this corsair v2 (also 1 pci-e) for half the price after rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

If you could just get a molex adapter you could get that down to $481. Ask in the BST section and someone might ship you one for free.

I wonder if its sensible to bump the budget to $600 to get something more than 20% better. Was thinking of Sandybridge i3 based system. Otherwise we can cut budget down and go for Llano+6450 or something? Somehow I just think that this budget is "neither here no there", high enough that you will get something decent, but not enough to "hit the max price/perf region"

Get CPU unlocked and you get $30 more value, several bits can be downgraded to save ~$5.
