Read this page, you probably won't get half the benefit that the card can offer unless your system is up to the task!! :rockout: :pimp: :respect:  :banghead:

I was never disagreeing but his is an upgrade offer that means he gets it for just $213 which is a steal and on top of that even with some CPU limitations.....it's still gonna be a lot quicker than his old 7900GT.

Then when he decides to upgrade his system in the future, he certainly wont need to worry about the graphics card and then he will see even more improvement from it.

Tatty is right.
If you look at the way the architecture works.
The unified shaders make it so that the card is always working.

Unlike DX9 cards, which have pixel pipelines and vertex shaders.
If, for example all the pipelines are used, that doesnt mean the vertex shaders are all going to be used.
Usually, one is used less than the other in games.
So you have a piece of hardware that is idle.

Now with the DX10 architecture, the unified shaders can act as either pixel shaders or vertex shaders.
So there really wont be anything idle unless it isnt being used at all.

This alone will cause a vast improvement over his 7900 card.
Just bc its CPU limited doesnt mean it isnt worth the money.
