Running 687/1195 @ 1.01v ,1V gives a bit artifacts but 1.01v seems stable.

Edit: now going to flash 1.01v

edit:2 succesfully flashed to 1.01v now running furmark 15 minutes and 3dmark vantage for onboard xD

umm quick question for those who are using the original backplate, i was wondering if you guys used the thermal pads that were including with the cooler. again i have a 65nm and the directions say to add the thermal pads witht eh cooler backplate. but since i plan on using the original backplate do i need ot use the thermal pads also? thanks

I have a 280 FTW w/accelero that i am doing an initial 3d06 run with @ 750 to see what the profile is like, it will be interesting to see how high it can go and how hot it can get, man it;'s hot in my office at the moment, the hudimity is a killer...

I think using the included pads with the stock b/plate is not a good idea, since they are really thick and stubborn. I used soft 1mm pads and it worked just nice. But if you can't get replacement pads, I suggest you can stick with the original ones, it should work too

in the end i had to use thermal grease on back plate as original pads were a mess and accelero are too thick


as for replacement parts - now we are waiting for a replacement machinery cause one idiot turned it on here "without knowing that some parts are missing" and it just blowed up....

Stock pads here, they mostly stick to the backplate anyways when you remove it. I've taken it apart so many times, that I added some silicon paste to them so that they make contact 100%.

Yeah, good thing about the original ones is that the backplate is easy to remove as they are not sticky. Best would be pads that stick to the memory, but have non sticky other side, like ATI had on x1900xt (and previous cards).

works like a charm. i had to do so cause 3 pads were unusable anymore so i removed them and put MX-3 paste on 3 ram chips. i'd like to use pads like original, but there are nowhere to buy them from here

So that pink thing is not just a protective film? If it's not, then those will be goood. Sticking them to the backplate so that pink part will go against memory, like it did on the ATI card would be best. That way you can also use ramsinks on the backside if you want to and backplate remains usable with the pads. That stuff would be great on the backside of VRMs too, if those on top of memory squish enough, so they make contact too.

Well paste is better than pads Sure pads raise the backplate a bit too, so that components have more air to breathe, but there are those breathing holes already.

I feel you on the thermal pads too, none here either, well one place: http://www.coolputer.fi/tiedot.asp?t=2050 That I ordered once, but it's expensive for such a small piece and took the a while to deliver it. Though I'd use it for attaching home-made ramsinks, but then I found you can get ramsinks with thermaltape for same amount of money, without the need to saw off bigger aluminum sinks..

I can confirm that They're probably adding some shape-memory polymers into these pads. But I don't know if they are suitable for usage on VRM chips, since they have only 1.0W/mK thermal conductivity. Wonder how thermally conductive are the original pads

Pity I didn't take any pics. But I can say I definitely wouldn't try to put them back, unless I have a 20-ton presser I think it would be perfectly possible to cut the ends without removing the fins, but three less fins didn't make any performance drop, so what the hell

What about we put some money togehter and order the 30m roll of 3M tape? That would provide the lifetime supply even for our grandchildren

Could you make a photo to show us how thick they are?
I think they're too thick. Which is bad for the heat transfer

If you're talking about the pads, they are 1mm thick. Take the ruler and you'll get the idea
The ones on the picture OnBoard posted a few posts above are certainly twice as thick as the ones I have and yet ATi used them on serially produced cards

They'll squeeze eventually when you put the cooler on The original "nvidia" pads were almost twice as thick as these and they did their job more or less well with the stock cooler.

I didn't mean under the VRM sink, I meant behind the PCB, under the backplate. The VRM put out a lot of heat there too (as seen earlier on this thread, with the backside copper cooler). Putting that stuff between backsine of VRMs and backplate would transfer some of the heat to the backplate -> cooler VRMs.

Would be fun stuff to have, I already have multiple places in mind where I'd use it. Under my CPU, (though would need quite couple pieces or a thicker one) and backside of GPU & VRMs. Yet again none of that in Finland, don't know if I want to order it too far, unless some place ships it in a letter.

Lol , I was trying to play GTR evolution.
But I got artifacts after 1 ms of playing. I was like wth?
So I flashed the bios backto it original state, but the problem was still not solved.

Then I saw the temps My accelero fants stopepd spinning, then I fixed the fans and everything was running smooth

Yes, use stock pads with stock backplate, they are fine.

alrite guys i have an issue but it doesnt relly have to do with the cooler. anyways iv installed the cooler on my card (took like 3 hrs since i could get teh heatsinks to stick so i not using them until i can get the enzotech stuff) i was using ati tool to check for artifacts and to control my fan speed. anyways when i thought i was turning up the fan speed i accidentall increased my memory clock. and now i cant get any picture up on my monitor. i cant get post, cant get into bios, cant get anything. does anyone know if i cant fix this or did it otoally fuck my card up and need top get a new one? please let me know. thanks and i apologize for asking this here not trying to overtake the thread just looking for some help. so let me know guys thanks alot

if you have second PCIexpress on your motherboard then you could borrow any video card from your friends and put it there and attach monitor to it, then try booting into windows and see if it lets you to change memory clock of your own card back

don't know if it'll work but give it a try
