For my country from nvidia's website:

RTX 4090 (24GB) starting at 1.959,00 €
RTX 4080 (16GB) starting at 1.469,00 €
RTX 4080 (12GB) starting at 1.099,00 €
Thanks for this brilliant reminder.

Now have a look here:

Now I should give my 3090 horse some oatcakes
That's exactly twice the performance at twice the cost

@Bomby569 @Count von Schwalbe
Yes it's true. Just wanted to point out the core count
Performance gap between 4090 and 4080 must be lot more than their price gap.
Perhaps a 4080ti will release on AD102 with gddr7 and an msrp higher than 4090 with between 16 to 20 memory. I guess
A 2000$ 4080ti and a 2500$ 4090ti with gddr7 in Spring 2024

So this is on Nvidia website. It says 4090 runs Cyberpunk with raytracing on and DLSS off at 22fps:

And here's what 3090Ti does with RT on and DLSS off:

they said there's a new RT mode coming out that is much harder on GPU's. That's what that is based on.

This clip is funny, when Mr. Incredible finds that 4090 delivers 22 fps.
I'm still wondering if Nvidia was comparing 4090 with 4090 or the one on left is 3090ti

4080-12 has same memory bus as 3060.
Even 3060Ti has more
4080-12 has 105 GB/s less memory bandwidth than 3070ti

Despite the slightly lower core count, the clock speed improvements will give a 30% performance increase (3080-12 to 4080-12) besides architecture changes.
No sir.

Nvidia declared 2X to 4X improvement not 30% over Their own prior Generation.

Can't wait for reviews as that claim need's holding up and checking.

Ps, your probably right though :)

as expected... :(

Good thing it isn't that price here in the states or you guys would likely be paying 2500 usd smh.
1949€ is with taxes.
so it's around 200 bucks above what you would pay (7,25% if my quick google search is correct)
that's still 1000€ more than it should be.

Tax is a little higher where I live 9.5% but my parents live in Oregon so I can usually get most things with 0 tax and still get it shipped to me for free.

Well you tend to get better warranty support in the EU, maybe Oz & NZ as well? So there's that. The US has cheaper prices, much of Europe better warranty & the rest of world ~

Not ruling out a 2-4x improvement despite its low likelihood. What I should have said was that despite the lower shader count, the die has more shader clocks per second - aka cores X clock speed. If it doesn't have a MINIMUM of 30% increase, the Ada architecture is worse than Ampere - highly unlikely. That is also not accounting for memory subsystem improvements or enlarged cache.

Still guessing in rasterizaion the 4080 12 GB will match the vanilla 3090, the 4080 16GB will he 20-30% faster than the 3090ti, with the 4090 being about 60% better.

A funny/ironic video here, guy is using 2 giant triple rads and an EK cpu block, yet air cooling the 4090

using both motherboard and PSU from EVGA

I found it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/rtx-40-series-graphics-cards-announcements/

here, I don't understand how does a potato and 4090 deliver same performance on Flight Simulator.
Looks like a big chunk of 40-series sacrifices rasterization in favor of fake AI frames (aka DLSS 3)
They preferred to reach 4~5x fake frames rather than putting those transistors into making native real stuff

Do you think vanilla 4070 will come with 12gb

if they don't make the die even smaller and a 160bit interface with 10gb.
i don't think they go beyond 10.

Benchmarks out!

They're 2k raw performance (no DLSS) for this game Overwatch 2

4090 is 2.03x faster than 3080 with 2.28x msrp
cough 4080 is 18% faster than 3080 with 28% higher msrp
4080-16 is 47% > 3080 and costs 71% more
cough 4080 gives 51% perform over 3070 and costs 80% more
4080 is 88% > 3070 and 140% more expensive

4090 is 2.6x of 3070 and costs 3.2x
4090 is 37% > 4080 and 33% money
4090 is 71% > cough and 77% money

4080 24% > cough and 33% money

4090 4.15x > 3060 and 4.8x money
4080 3x > 3060 and 3.6x money
cough 2.4x > 3060 and 2.7 money

Not yet. in 108 hours,
4070 super 12GB $699 next summer.
I think 4070 will be 699$ and 10GB
Super or Ti more than that.

12GB is unlikely, so they can push you towards the cough 4080

Look how DLSS3 displays the 10.34NM text in Flight Simulator:

Hmm. That looks terrible. Making my decision to go with a 3080 12gb look much better.

@Appalachian @R0H1T
They probably will find a way to separate UI text from fake AI imagery. But the problems around the airplane tail, I don't know
Hopefully text will be rendered correctly readable in future, but with occasional jumps.
May be they shouldn't aim for doubling the frame rate with DLSS, but a 10~20% increase.

This is 4090 vs 3090

Forza: 90% faster
Dying light: 73% faster
Cyberpunk: 71%
Far Cry: 60%
RDR: 65%
Valhalla: 47%
Hitman: 84%
Horizon: 71%
Shadow of TR: 88%
Watch dogs: 79%
I bought my 3090 for 6900 yuan. 4090 is 12999
6900-700=6200 (waterblock is 700 yuan)

4090 is 109% more expensive.
