Another useless SKU for the bargain bin. The upcoming SSD war is not about who can market their crap the best, it's about price. Soon, the best-performing SSDs will be below 25¢/GB, and the crappy ones will be even cheaper (but still not worth wasting your time). Eventually the lesser brands will be absorbed by the 2 or 3 largest...

Well, they've seemingly learnt from their mistakes and I think I'd rather have this than a SandForce based controller in my SSD.

The crappy ones will still be good for older systems, like those millions Core 2 Duo/Athlon II/low end APU systems out there.
 
Latest gen JMicron SSD controllers are quite capable. Don't underestimate them based on their first attempts at SSD's with Kingston drives back in the very early days...

Silicon Motion is already bottom of the barrel, JMicron is the mould-infested bottom of the bottom of the barrel.
