Ainex HUB-03 Fills Your Rig with 13 USB Ports

covers to block the unused ports

buy a proper 5-10 port USB hub & hook it up to one of the spare ports on the pack on of your pc that plus the 2 or 4 on your front panel can get up 14 or possibly more USB ports, doesnt take up a 5.25 bay and the hub can be positioned anywhere as long as the cable reaches.

Id prefer this method then shoving this ugly 13 port bay into my pc...so what if its 'not part of your pc/case' like i said - there are otherways to get upto 13 or 14 ports on a PC so go cry in a bukket.

The ports are too close together. Imagine trying to plug a magicjack into that mess. It'd take up 2 if not 4 of those slots.

That's why they come with a small USB extension cable... keeps it from blocking other ports

My Magicjack's both came with dongles....

Well then, you ain't nothing unless you have 100+ wide-spaced USB ports with it's own dedicated power supply:

Bring on USBMark Vantage!

It was just an example because my magicjack was within eyesight. There are a number of big devices, and my point was that the ports are too close together.

So, won't the transfer rates be complete crap if you have 13 devices plugged in and working if they are all running of a pair of usb headers. Imagine how awful the front of your pc would look if you had 13 usb devices sticking out of it all the time. It would look like a spaghetti factory exploded out the front of your pc. I mean, if you don't leave things plugged in at the front all the time isn't 13 ports a waste. I have 4 and yes I have used them all at the same time but it was really just for the hell of it, the most I ever really use at the same time is 2. If I intend on leaving a device plugged in all the time I just plug it in the back where the wire mess is less visible. It would drive me nuts to have a billion wires hanging off the front of my case all the time.

And why 13, are they trying to build the unluckiest usb hub ever.

So a built in solution that matches pretty much any black case is "ugly" compared to a hub that likely won't match the case, and isn't built in so it sticks out like a sore thumb...yeah...that is such a better much less ugly solution!

i use nearly 10 USB devices, but most of them go into the rear of the case... 13 cords hanging from the front panel? nuh uh

I guess...

But uh...I don't think this is meant to use with cords...nor devices with them. I think everyone here is not the intended audience, but someone like me, most definately is.

You see, USB drives are cheap, and a fantastic way for artists to boost sales.

;)

Back panel is full here, and so is top panel 2. But my motherboard has space for 3 more headers...

My silly Tact-X keyboard I'm on now uses 2x USB ports. Mouse, wireless, xbox controller, monitor, that's my back panel full. Usually have a USB drive plugged in, leaves just one I swap out the PSP, the iphone, and a G25 too, sometimes.

Now, if i want to hook up the flight controls....wires don't matter.;)

But more seriously, USB drive replication. Almost every pc has en extra header and 5.25 drive. Not needing to use another wall wart for a powered hub...

I think I'm in loooove....:wtf:

the hubs can come in different colours, shapes and sizes (dont you know) so you can find the best suited to you. not only that you can use the hub with your laptop too. it wont stick out like a sore thumb - sure its gonna stick out. but only as much as the 13 or 14 other devices that you are gonna plug into it, and, like I said in a previously post - you can position the hub anywhere on your desk so you can choose to have it in full view, like a 'sore thumb' or hidden from view but not in such a way that causes an inconvinience

At my work we use all the ports on our burning PC x6 USB dvd burners and 2 internal. We also use USB keys for virus checking and have to update them every morning so i use 14 ports some times to.

you have a strange work environment

Future proofing is not excessive - a 13 port USB bay however - is

I could easily fill this up

This would save me a fair old bit o time when I'm editing from several peoples cameras.

who need will buy it who don't like it and need one will buy other hub as the market is full.

no need to argue for nothing

almost over 80% of PC cases come with 2 USB ports at the front. your point is invalid - in the case that you do need more ports at the front. there are better devices you can buy then this ugly peice of trash

I need more than the 4 ports I have on the front of my PC. I would buy this if it were USB 3.0.

I'd rather have this than a shitty external taking up my desk space any day.

As soon as a USB 3.0 version comes out, I will buy it.

Yes, but they all have ugly logos on them, and I haven't seen many 10+ port hubs in many different colors, have you? Any of them just plain black with no logos? Any of them that won't take up any extra space on my desk?

Oh, and of course an external hub needs external power also, which makes it even more inconvienient and more ugly.

Yes, you can put it out of view, but then it is just as bad as crawling under the desk to plug things in the back of the computer. Part of the point of this device is to make the USB ports accessible, hiding the USB hub makes the ports less accessible.

Yeah, sorry I was kind of in a dick mood yesterday.
But, I do find it quite strange that this fugly little USB hub has gotten everyone
so riled up...
Yes, they are too close together for most flash keys.
The 100 port usb copy key on the other hand is pretty cool.
I got to use one earlier this year to make 5000 2gig sticks as promotional give aways for the NAMM show. That thing was damn fast, they had ten of the usb ones and a whole other wall with DVD ones. I think the company is called Zip Spin that makes those.
Anyway lets let this thread die already, if some-one wants ten cords hanging out from the front of their pc what to I care.

Nobody's riled up.

USB hub must die! Kill it with fire!

Wait, what were we talking about again?
