Akasa Turing is the company's latest fanless cases for Intel "Bean Canyon" NUC family, which embeds 8th generation Core "Coffee Lake" processors. Designed for living rooms or corner offices, the Turing is a carbon-black monolith with its aluminium body doubling up as heatsink for the processor. Fins and ridges of the body panel curve in an almost Art Deco style. You can either orient the case vertically, or sideways. The case can handle SoCs with TDP of up to 28 W without needing fans. Front panel connectivity includes a pair of USB 3.1 type-A, an IR receiver, and headset jack, while the rear panel is designed for most "Bean Canyon" boards. Akasa will reveal pricing very soon.

"Coffee"..."Bean"...I get it...but it's stupid. Sounds even more dumb if you don't have the info to make the connection.

I love the case. Why don't we get more of this design?

Worse than EPYC? :)

Definitely. On performance too. ;)

I want a case that size for Ryzen 3xxx ...

Oh, I'd love to see how EPYC performs at 28W. :-)

Anyway, I believe we must accept weird names at the moment.

Imagine Intel getting a license from Disney and naming CPUs after Star Wars characters. ;-)

I don't find the size that impressive (we've seen smaller passive cases). But the design is excellent.
And, unlike all these plexi panels with LEDs, this one actually has practical purpose. It's like one of those designer heaters.
Great stuff from Akasa.

Pictures of the insides of the case would be most helpful..

yep, it's bad enough that we don't/can't get pricing, but no interior photos is an epic f.a.i.l. IMHO :D

It's a pity the trend of making electronics look like part of the furniture was lost and now is just a DIY niche. This box with some more carved details or a moroccan woodwork would look awesome.

Wood is not exactly a great thermal conductor. :-D
Obviously, you can find wooden speakers and headphones.
But you have a lot of electronics with classy, smart looks. And quite a lot of minimal, "scandinavian" stuff as well.
Look at Google Home Mini - it looks like carved from a sofa. :-)

It's not that bad with computers either. We have both minimal, elegant designs and flashy gaming alternative. It's just that today the "elegant" stuff is mostly notebooks. Custom desktops drifted towards plexi and RGB.

This isn’t Art Deco at all.

It looks like my old amplifier. I hid it in the box.

What? :shadedshu:

Somebody needs to go back to Art School.

There's a project, make a PC that looks like a larger GHM. ;)

Just be carful you don't get copyright infringement notices from Apple if it looks too much like their HQ!
