I have bought my Vortexx, it's doing a great job with the 4850

1) Stock cooling + stock bios idle temp ~85 C
2) Stock cooling + fan @ 50+ % idle temp ~ 55 C but load as hell
3) Vortex @ default 2500 rpm idle temp ~ 35 C and almost no noise

Ambient temperature 26-28 C

Funny thing about the cooler is that the first one that i have installed had it's fan damaged. The blades were off-centered and doing weird noises and only getting about 450 rpm, so i took it back and got it replaced. Even with 450 rpm at idle the temp was only 45 C.

Nice review Erocker, is this your first or am I just not remembering ones you done before?

I agree with others, this looks strikingly like my IceQ3 cooling assembly on my 3870.

According to Howard - Akasa in a post over at HEXUS, Akasa submitted the Vortexx Neo design to HIS in late 2007 and early 2008. He says this is why the IceQ 3 and the Vortexx Neo look so similar. He said to draw your own conclusions. If the Vortexx Neo is as cool and quiet as my IceQ 3 then its a winner!:toast:
