Am I the only one mad I paid for a 680 when could just got the 670?

Sorry for complaining everyone, I was just kind of mad after seeing that LinusTech video. I won't be returning it, I am happy with the GTX 680 in all respects, so I will just forget it and admit I wasted $100, not like it is the first I have wasted $100. That's life.

Hold out hope that the magic smoke that is in the 670 came from the drivers for it and that those optimizations will hit the 680 in a release or two.

You dont have foresight to know that the GTX670 would turn out like that. You have to go with what's available at the time. If the GTX670 was going to be out soon then i would have waited but if you bought the GTX680 a while ago then no i would not have remorse.

Really depends on time of purchase how i would personally feel.

lol noob! I paid almost 500 bones for my 2900XT. Thats what taught me about over priced GPU's. Ever since then 4850, 5850, 570.

I don't. Graphics cards have become more sophisticated though. Then again, look at the reference 670. The 5850 in my work rig hasn't shown an incling of any kind of failure yet.

Bah I guess you're right. This 570 DCII I have seems to be built like a tank. Its just the older cards seemed to have more longevity to them. It seems like there are more "bad" cards today. This is just an over all impression I get.

I've got a 2900 Pro BIOS flashed to an XT. And yes, it's my favourite lemon, sitting proudly in my graphics card collection. I mean, sod the performance and the irritating noise, it just looks gorgeous in red with that flame design!

I've also got its nemesis, the 8800 GTX (bought used for little money) and it crucifies it. Never seen anything like it.

I was going to get a 2900pro and im so f'n glad at the time i waited, the 8800gt was so much better. There where only a couple weeks between release dates for those cards.

In Soviet Russia we build PCB to fit GPU cooler. Not other way.

and yes witcher 2 gtx 670 does beat the gtx 680, that is unacceptable.

I'm not sure if your argument about the 670 being better than the 680 is valid. I don't think W1zzard re-runs all benchmarks on all cards with the latest drivers. The drivers used for the 680 review were probably the beta drivers (v285.62 link). Version 301.10 came out on 3/22, reviews were performed probably a good 2-3 days prior to the drivers coming out. In other words, if w1zzard ran all benchmarks again with the latest drivers, I highly doubt the 670 would beat the 680 in anything (if they were both at their respective reference clocks).

A 670 is not better than a 680. I think your merely complaining about your 680 because you feel its not worth $499, that is your real argument. And if you're a college student, why are you spending $499 on a video card in the first place, if you don't have the money? Thats another argument you should have with your parents.

Usually i get mad after watching Linus for other reasons. You know the saying "You have a face or voice for radio" ? Linus videos remind me of West Hollywood strangely.
