AMD Could Cut Prices of 2nd Gen Ryzen "Pinnacle Ridge" Processors

I'm not complaining, price cuts are always good for us, but that's why AMD is always short of money.

Margins are already short, and when they finally have a chance to make serious money, they shorten it even more.
That's how the game is played. They have to make their strategy including some price cuts along the way.

AMD going in for the kill, I like it! Gut those greedy Intel mofos and watch them bleed!!

Kicking a man while he is down.

Might be dirty fighting, but it is my kind of fighting

Absolutely wrong, dude!!!!

Intel is large and AMD is small and they are both kicking @ their respective heights. The thing is, Intel is kicking over AMD's head, thus missing, and AMD is hitting Intel's knees, thus making a serious dent ...

Well, yes that is technically right. But I mean, when you got the opportunity while a man is down, to kick him in the nards, then its best option

This is basically what nVidia is doing to AMD right now, with 2000 series cards ...

What Nvidia are doing to AMD with Turing is worse than that... it's more the equivalent of burning your enemy's corpse after you've ripped him limb from limb and dined on his organs while his family watch on in tears as you throw your head back in laughter and dark clouds amass in the sky above and lightning strikes the ground around you.

That's AMD doing it to themselves, if they had anything worthwhile to release atm we'd have seen it. Nvidia is kicking the consumers, metaphorically speaking, not AMD.

I don't think so. Turing is rather lackluster compared to previous series and too costly. Vega on other hand is a fantastic card IF gotten at a good price. Issue is the price and I agree.

i wish AMD could be this competitive on the Graphics card market... The price for the NVIDIA 2000 series is a SCAM!

Duly noted.

Not saying Turing is bad. But price point is. I got my Vega at $250 cad so it's a much better deal for me.

Couldn't helped and jump in... And yes, while the man down could chops on your knee (lower parts) will take you down tooooo! :D

P.S. Hint: AMD >> Intel

back on topic:
Weird moved by AMD (BIG YES, can't complaint). Guessed that's why she is Dr. Lisa Su! :)

Will see won't we! In the mean while, enjoyed!

Cheer!

amd's Ryzen at this point has so good value - that you even can grab R7 2700X + mobo + cooler use and abuse it and after 1+ year when you feel like upgrade again

I am doing something very similar to this except I purchased the 2600x (saved $100 for similar performance) and then I'll upgrade to the 3700x/3800x when it drops.

Another price cut is expected at the end of the year- AMD FTW!

Me like that.

Intel is pulling a tock, tock, tock while AMD has kidnapped their "Moore's law" and is pulling a proper tick, tock, tick.

Well, when Zen 2 gets released it is going to make Zen+ even cheaper than it already is- imagine getting Ryzen 2700X for $250? Intel just cannot compete with that.

imagine 1950x for $500?

Jeez!

AMD just know how the compete and its impressive to say the least. They have literally made Intel's i5 completely irrelevant. Really excited to see what AMD does next year with Zen 2 and Navi!

I'm not complaining at all, price cuts are always good for us, but that's why AMD is always short of money.

Margins are already low, and when they finally have a chance to make serious money, they shorten it even more.

That's correct, and that's what people need to understand: AMD needs to make money so they can CONTINUE to compete this well with intel for the next 10 years, not just the next 3....
