AMD Gives Away "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" with Select AMD FX Processors

AMD is giving away game codes to "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," with select AMD FX desktop processors. Game-codes will be included with the AMD FX-8370 with Wraith, FX-8370 (standard), FX-8350 with Wraith, FX-8350 Black Edition, FX-8320E, FX-8320, FX-8300, FX-6350 with Wraith, FX-6350, and FX-6300. With the game code to a recently launched AAA game title added, you can imagine just how the value-proposition of parts such as the $99 FX-6300 is enhanced. The giveaway is limited to select retailers, AMD will update us on more participating retailers shortly. Newegg is handling the promotion in the US.

The 6300 is an absolute steal with this! Even the 83xx series are made much more appealing with this, not that they are bad buys, it makes an 8320 ~$130+ tax in my hood

This is a good sign, spreading the 'give away' love on a couple models, means they are trying to clear the channels for Zen

Some folks really believe that a Vishera "FX" processor is bad. Actually it's still fast enough to run latest games. Compared to price / performance ratio your still better off with a AMD setup rather then a Intel.

Power usage is'nt important. Nobody on the planet games for 24/7. Who gives a crap anyway 30watts more on load compared to a intel counterpart?

OC these things to 5GHz or above and things fly.

Well, if I don't care about the electric bill, 30W is almost 5 more lights turned on in my house. 30W more next to an intel 65W part is almost 50% more. It depends on how you choose to look at the problem.

Any AMD CPU can be tweaked. Install a watt-o-meter, put things on stock, and start lowering the voltage > stresstesting. I'm sure you can shave a few watts (up to 60W on 5GHz Vishera) on stressed.

It's not so bad as people think. Still offers plenty of performance.

I like to keep my GPU under 200W and my CPU under 85-95W, but mostly because of cooling.
I don't like burning through lots of power, but I am a programmer and I also play games (time permitting), so going low-power/HTPC isn't the best option for me.

People always underestimate the costs of a clothes-dryer (2000W), wasmachine (1500W) and perhaps electrical cooking (up to 3500W). Lose from all the devices that sip power daily. What is 30W compared to that?

Turn on CNQ, undervolt CPU, turn Vsync on, underclock GPU / mem (GPU's still work fine with 100 to 200Mhz less btw) and put power savings in anything thats possible.

Enjoy a slow system.

In my opinion AMD based systems are more 'fun' to tweak.

We're at a stadium that CPU power does'nt matter really much these days. Any high-end AM3+ system is still able to compete in many applications and games compared to intel. It just comes with a small higher power usage, and those buying the cherry picked 5GHz version dont care about that.

Back in the days, we used to had CRT's in our rooms, that would warm up the entire room without having the heater on. Those things sipped up to a few hunderd watts an hour. Nobody complained back then about power usage.

well, the 480 (basically every gpu that is out right now is under the 200W mark) is under the 200W mark and the 8370e is at 95W so overall as a system they are ok on the power usage factor based on your wanted specs. as for cooling, you already have an aftermarket cooler, so i don't think that you would have any temp problems. considering the facts i don't get what your gripe is with these CPUs, especially since now one can get them dirt cheap.
