European PC enthusiasts continue to see value in choosing AMD Ryzen processors over Intel Core, as the latest public data by German retailer Mindfactory.de, which ships across the EU, shows AMD processors outselling Intel 2:1. Although earlier Intel would have the upperhand in revenue despite lower volumes, this time around, AMD shored up revenues on the backs of high-margin products such as the Ryzen 7 2700X and the HEDT Ryzen Threadripper series.

The 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5 2600 is the most popular processor offering high value under the 200€-mark. It is followed by the 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 7 2700X. Buyers prefer the 2700X to the cheaper 2700 non-X. The Ryzen 5 2600X is another strong seller. Over in the Intel camp, the Core i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K are strong sellers, followed by the i5-9600K and the newly released i5-9400F. Pricing graphs show Intel processor pricing steadily rise over 2018, while AMD chips remained largely flat. These numbers are not indicative of the overall market, since Mindfactory caters to DIY PC gamers and enthusiasts only.

Mindfactory is one of best etailors in Germany.
Their prices are often very compatitive.
Both Intel i7700k and Ryzen 2700x that I bought came from them.

At launch of Radeon VII they had the best price. Other stores were selling this for 100€ more.
The MSI GTX 1070Ti that I bought last year for my son was on weekend deel cheaper by around 80€ at their store.
 
DIY market is barely 10% of the OEM sales, including enterprise, so while the headline grabbing number sounds great - in reality till the time OEM give more orders to AMD, Intel will continue to rake in record profits YoY & QoQ even with zen 2 on the horizon.

If you take a gander you can see that most of Intel revenue comes from selling a crap load expensive "K" SKUs.
Those that are listed combined make about 73% of their bar for March.

Yet sampling just germany for exclusively cpus is fine?

Man, I need a new dose of anti-irony pills. The old ones aren't working anymore.

I did preface that comment with DIY sales barely making 10% wrt OEM numbers. As for steam there's good reasons why it's hugely flawed - picking random users for survey, not discounting previous survey participants for current/future surveys - does that count? At least these numbers show the exact part of the picture we're looking at, with steam we don't even know what to look & what to ignore!

Steam nor MindFactory.de is relevant as what cpus' customers are using. It shows some figures. Take it as a different approach. You have gaming platforms from steam and general purchases from a reseller across Germany and/or EU. Is that fine?
 
The option that one or another retailer is getting good deals to publish statistics like these always existed, for both sides.
I'll take a dose of red-pills with those Anti-Irony pills that dude suggested.
 
It does go to show that sometimes the underdog is the better choice.... :)

No it doesn't. You have gamers on steam only. Not to mention not all gamers use steam. There are other application. From the MindFactory yes it deals with the German EU market but in general despite if it is for a gamer or a workstation etc.. Besides not all are buying from MindFactory so this is just their own sales records and thus it must be taken that way. Either way what are we discussing here? It's pointless. None of these mentioned here is any way near to the sales for either AMD, Intel or NVidia for all the markets. It's just their own records.
 
Is it only me, or does "mindfactory" sound provocative? :pimp:
