Just hours after NVIDIA released its Battlefield 3 optimised GeForce driver suite, AMD is ready with a similar piece of software of its own, the AMD Catalyst 11.10 Preview. Preview drivers are essentially BETA hotfix drivers. The new Catalyst software suite makes your ATI/AMD Radeon graphics card (that meets minimum/recommended requirements) optimized for Battlefield3. Its changelog follows:
  • Improves performance in Battlefield 3 Open Beta release for both non-Anti-Aliasing, and application enabled Anti-Aliasing cases on the AMD Radeon HD 6000 and AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series for single GPU configurations
  • Enables support for Eyefinity 5x1 display (portrait and landscape) configurations using the AMD Radeon HD 6000 and AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series
  • Vision Engine Control Center: User Interface enhancements have been implemented for the CrossfireX, GPU Overdrive, and Information Center pages.

Good to see, wonder how many things they will break with these drivers.

The proper installer isn't up yet.

Geez, I was just about to post this, BTA is on the ball!

Only 23.5Mb? Well, I'll see what happens.

*Doesn't work.

i didnt have a problem with 11.7 in alpha will be nice to see how much of a boost these give

I wish they'd release the darn Cat 11.9 WHQL instead...

Like erocker said, Its an incomplete file and was not compiled correctly. why would AMD release this without testing?

Probably setup the webpage first, put a random file there as a placeholder so they could confirm it worked right, and overzealous users found it first?

Or they just suck?

I hope this update helps us 5000 series users due to the requirements for BF3

I wonder how significant the driver will be though, doesn't show any scale/percentages... it could be all from 0.5 in some cards to the mighty 30% invidia...

just in time for the HD6950 ill be getting soon

This is a Battlefied 3 driver. Not sure what you're going on about. :ohwell:

I can't wait to see someone do a 5x1 array of 16:9 landscape monitors. You probably couldn't even see the outermost monitors it would be so wide.

I was just planning on getting a second one :)

now if the download for this worked.

I can't wait for this beta I will get to see what my crossfire can do with one of the newest games :D

Yes but this driver does Portrait as well

Did they do one for their mobile graphics cards as well?

My 6850 is being shipped and the only dedicated gpu I have is in my notebook, so I was wondering if they did the same for HD 6630M because that's all I got right now

AFAIK mobile GPUs are only WHQL only

Downloading now. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: Oooooooh I like the new CCC UI. A lot easier for Crossfire users.
