AMD Radeon RX 6000 "Big Navi" RDNA2 Reference Design Pictured

Why 2x 8pin though? Can we get a card with good performance with just 1x 8pin like GTX 1000 series??

Nvidia aren't selling 1000 series though, they're selling 3000 series with TDPs over 300W. Do you want AMD to compete with 3000 series performance but have 1000 series power consumption ?

Strange.

Nice flaming bro.

Please report that post. It's low-quality flamebait that contributes nothing to the discussion - ironically, posted by someone who is a childish toxic fanboy.

Holy shit, AMD finally stopped going full retard and binned their POS blower design. Maybe pigs can fly.

Now let's just hope the performance is there. That USB-C port is really interesting too - I'm not sure about Thunderbolt capability though, since those controllers are expensive and AMD has historically been unwilling to increase their cards' prices with any "unnecessary" extras (hence the blower cooler). Perhaps they are confident enough in RDNA2 that they believe they can compete in the premium segment, perhaps the USB-C port will be optional for AIBs.

Doesn't the new Oculus Quests 2 come with a USB-C connection to play PC games from your desktop?

fk me, is it truly looking like a reference card from AMD with cooler that does not suck?

90% odds that it has a garbage base plate with black bubble-gum thermal paste.

Two slot card - check
No blower - check
3 air pressure fans - check
no blocked sides like in VII - check

Then you buy it, slot it in, download drivers and yet you still get a black screen and game crashes. That has been the story all along for AMD Gpu.

It is not a blower type of cooler. Guess AMD has forsaken the blower coolers. Good these suck anyway.
With the bubble-gum type of compound I wouldn't be so sure either and 2x8pin power. Interesting. Really interesting.

I encountered a black screen once on my navi. I'd buy it if the performance is there and price is satisfying any day. Apparently you are a lousy story teller :)

No, they blow. It's in the name. :D

This conventional design looks so much better than RTX3000 imo.

5700 and 5700XT is 2x 8 pin, neither requires it.
180 and 225w respectably.
I think 3070 at 225W is two 8 pins too.

I use a Cintiq Pro for work, which needs a USB type C, you can't use it with USB Type C on your motherboard if you have a Ryzen non-APU as that is not connected to any integrated GPU, so this is very useful for me on a desktop.

On a side note, I am very excited to find out the truth about Ampere tomorrow. This engineer guy gives a great breakdown on why he thinks Nvidia have been very dishonest, so we're in for a little shock when these are reviewed:

Hint: the performance per watt improvement looks to be tiny, and RT performance increase is apparently very small, hence why Nvidia asked DF to bench Battlefield 2 with RT on.
Heh, you wouldn't believe me, then. Would you believe it now, @R-T-B? All aboard the hype train! Cho! Cho!

Funny how we move away from blower designs as case design goes backward to the 90s, beige-box days of terrible ventilation. Bad airflow and minimal case exhaust all over again, just swapping the big steel panels for glass ones.

Most def looks kinda too traditional and therefor kinda boring.
Nvidias new FE cards look more appealing to me just speaking visually.

Heck personally I liked the look of the Radeon VII a lot as well, that square look with that little coloured cube.

Oh well, as long as the performance is good and the price ill get one.

ooh, erhh, looks just like radeon vii.

3 x axial fans, and fans are not so much density close esch other,so mean 1st issue is air turbulence ,not silence.
i hope not thouse are over 3000 rpm fans,if theyare 45fb is possible. lests hope, but cool air must go hard there core.

again, its fact that that gpu needs alot cooling air,so lets see.

ineed to say, that that leaks what we see rdna2 performance ,was big navi.
im 99% sure it,bcoz all testing start always fastest gpu,and then when its looks ok ,meaning all getting performane out what it can, without tdp value not go sky high tdp, then usually taking gpus for lower, aka rx 6700 and so on.
and 2nd,no1 'leaks' middle gpu on air...why?

i omen these

rx 6900 4K fps,about 65-70 max, oc's fps about 75-77

rd 6700 4K fps,about 52-57,but that version is pointed QHD/FHD gaming anyway.

rest lower model no1 care.

tdp thouse performance 320-360W, and i mean big navi, might come watercooled version also,

price is amd big navi about 1000$, but amd zero profit politics, 700-800$

lets see..absolutly,not rtx 3080 performance and 3090.. no need to say....

and this bcoz we seen 1st 'leak and reality is that

rdna2 use same mems like rdna1
rdna2 use same core size 7nm like rdna1
rdna1 has been over year from amd optimazed, moust of that will be done now.
rdna2 has RT support, rdna1 not, thats clear difference, but its raise alot power eat also.

summarum:rdna2 is rdna1 with RT support and double of rops and tmus...nothing else cant except.

ok thats it, lets wait and see.

oh yeah, indeed nothing new inovation or ideas...dissapoinment. but what else...

looks indeed rdeon vii.

This looks so sleek they look like they'd be optimal in a case with one of those vertical mount card slot brackets.

To me this AMD design looks pretty standard affair really, but just some sleek design cue elements thrown in that work nicely. To me the look of the Nvidia design looks rather cringe honestly. I liked the styling of Nvidia's earlier coolers like the Titan's more, but they could've had a slow spinning cross flow fan the width of the card on one end and blower fan on the other and pull all the cooler air and waste heat thru the card and out the card slot bracket.

Half the internet is fantasizing about the potential performance of this card, proberly touching some genitile parts with it as well. Who cares. AMD stated 50% on top of 5700XT so expect within the 3070/3080 ballpark. And if they are smart they release a binned 6900XT or so with higher clocks and all that. My RX580 is in for a swap with something "bigger". Dont care about RTX and all that.

The card looks very nice. Love the 3 fan look and design.
If this is true, good job AMD. No more blower type coolers. :D

The Radeon looks better of course.

This people are getting the so called old Big Navi rumour confused and making it out as AMDs top dog card. I don't believe it is, the rumoured Big Navi GPU is meant to beat the 2080Ti by about 15% to 20%. Judging by what Nvidia has already revealed, this Radeon card should be called 6700XT and priced at around $450usd.

The Radeon looks better of course.

Apparently the top card is already two years old and EOL, but hey beyond that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

That RTX looking ugly already...plus it's green and not as cool as red!

The Radeon looks better of course.
Fanboy...and blowers aren't so bad if you adjust the RPM's on them, but they do have crazy high RPM's in many cases and often one is trying to do the task of 2 typical fans and that's when the problems arise with the sound.

My eye likes the Radeon the RTX looks rough around the edges though actually they appear fairly beveled. I still AMD's design in center of the card where it placed the RADEON logo looks good that indented chiseled angled edging well defined and sleek. That extra fan along with the accents on them that that are nice well. I'm not as crazy about the brushed aluminum thru the center it looks good, but anodized brushed gold with the black though would've really stepped it up further. Black and red and black and gold are both really good colorways.

When you say Fanboy, are you telling me that you are. Fanboy? Lol

Ya I agree the Radeon looks better.

Regarding RDNA2, that architecture is meant to compete with Ampere. I wouldn't call that 2 years behind ya know. Lol

They never said that, they said a 50% perf/watt improvment from RDNA to RDNA2. That could literally mean anything. Comparing low-end to low-end? We'll just have to wait and see. But no, AMD never said "RDNA2 is 2x as fast as 5700XT". That's just a straight up lie.

Sarcasm in relation to the additional fan on the Radeon.

Sounds to me like it means 50%+ performance uptick with 50%+ efficiency uptick at least in the case of certain scenario's. So yeah that could literally mean pretty much anything. Though I think it's modestly implied to be on average w/o explicitly stating such.

It literally just means this: say a RDNA(1) card has a TDP of 200W and gets 100FPS in a game, then another card for RDNA2 card gets 150FPS at the same wattage in that specific scenario between those two cards. Another way to look at it is that you could get the same FPS but at 100W.
So yeah, without knowing what they're comparing between it's meaningless. We'll have to wait and see.

I still own Radeon VII.
Mein was turned into water cooled.
The original cooler is lying somewhere. :p

This is a photo of mine: :)

Let's see how the performance of RDNA2 will be compared to Nvidia.
Hope there would one AMD card with performance comparable to RTX3080.
It would be nice to have competition back in GPU market like in CPU.

Most probably I am not buying a new GPU this year.
Maybe in first half of 2021.
Need to save some money at the moment. ;)
Due to Corona in Germany many of us worked for few month on short term with reduced salaries.
You know automotive sector where I work is heavily hit with sales figures. :(
