3DMark Fire Strike Hall of Fame is where overclockers submit their best hardware benchmark trials and try to beat the very best. For years, one record managed to hold, and today it just got defeated. According to an extreme overclocker called "biso biso" from South Korea and a part of the EVGA OC team, the top spot now belongs to the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card. The previous 3DMark Fire Strike world record was set on April 22nd in 2020, when Vince Lucido, also known as K|NGP|N, set a record with four-way SLI of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs. However, that record is old news since January 27th, when biso biso set the history with AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU.

The overclocker scored 62389 points, just 1,183 more from the previous record. He pushed the Navi 21 XTX silicon that powers the Radeon RX 6900 XT card to an impressive 3,147 MHz. Paired with a GPU memory clock of 2370 MHz, the GPU was probably LN2 cooled to achieve these results. The overclocker used EVGA's Z690 DARK KINGPIN motherboard with Intel Core i9-12900K processor as a platform of choice to achieve this record. You can check it out on the 3DMark Fire Strike Hall of Fame website to see yourself.

should be: 6900XT got carried by a 12900k to a new firestrike world record.

the second place has almost a 20k points higher GPU Score.

To be fair to the 6900XT, it is competing against four 1080 Ti's.

is the physics score derived from the CPU? if so that must be where the winning 20k is from?

How does any CPU carry a massively overclocked GPU in Firestrike?

A 3 GHz 6900xt beats four 1080TI’s. Good to know I guess.

it's top spot until someone can fit 4 1080TI's in a board again :P

Tell us, how does a cpu carry a gpu to a top spot in a GPU SPECIFIC bench..

because it is not strictly a gpu specific benchmark:
Graphics test
Graphics test 1 has heavy tessellation and volumetric illumination. Graphics test 2 features complex smoke simulation using compute shaders on the GPU and dynamic particle illumination.
Physics test
The Physics test runs 32 parallel simulations of soft and rigid body physics on the CPU.
cpus most definitely influence the total score.

also it's firestrike = 1080p not fs ultra/1440 or fs extreme/4K it can influence the graphics score too.

I find strange that the first RTX 3090 in that list is way lower, with 50114 points and position #23.

it isn't a GPU specific bench that's why. I can get no1 spot on superposition because its only GPU that affects the score but I'm in 6th on firestrike because I'm running a ryzen 1700.

Are you a bot?

Yes, 3dmark physics scores are CPU derived.

Easily beaten by a 3090 SLI no??

Nice. I'll expect the same performance from my own 6900XT :D:kookoo:

My RX480 can play Terraria at 4k @ 60 Hz!!!

Amd clock far higher.
Be that as it may, it's surprising that no one bothered or managed to push a 3090 anywhere close.

Because Firestrike's final score weighting heavily favors CPU performance. 3DMark suffered this for years going back to 2001SE; faster CPU will always outweigh a faster GPU in the total score tally. It's how people go back and take top scores for obsolete GPUs despite there being no new overclocking records broken on those GPUs.

In this case the 6900 XT is nearly 25% slower than quad-1080 Ti, but the CPU physics and combined score carry it over the line.

where does the 6900XT beat four 1080 Ti?
it is 20k points slower.

One card beats four cards all the time, old vs new....:p

any reason you're stuck on 1700?
