AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition Overview

Great but if they still haven't fixed the bug with Overwatch that has been present for over a year, the heck with AMD. It's an embarrassment to have something like that persist as long as it has.

This is not AMD only problem some Nvidia users are also having this problem, but on a much lower scale. There is probably something wrong in OW also. I had that problem, but I managed to fix it with reinstalling Win 10. I will also test with my roommate, he also is expirencing this bug.

"some nvidia users" the problem was more widespread among amd users by far and the only stable driver leading up to adrenalin was 17.7.1. Reinstalling windows did not help me at all and I patiently waited for this fix.

I'm aware, I was also costantly swiching to 17.7.1 and WIn 10 with autoupdating the driver was not helping it. The other possibility it is because I bought my self a RX 580 and inititaly I didn't have a poblem
on the latest driver at that time. That was only short lived and I had it again, at that time I desided it was time to reinstall Windows (had other problems too). I'm still skeptical for how long it will work.

I'm not able to say much, but I'm pretty sure this fix will be permanent :)

I have to say the AMD Link app is pretty slick. This is coming from a hardcore G19 LCD/AIDA64 user.

Did some tests with Batman: Arkham Knight and Witcher 3 using Enhanced Sync, Chill (45 fps) and FRTC (60 fps). Works great so far

After testing this for a few days, I can confidently report that the overlay (or just starting the settings in-game) introduces massive lag. It feels like the game is druggged or something. Imagine driving a F1 after 20 pegs of whisky. Then when I try to exit the game, the syatem crashes with fvcked up screen. Ony way out is the reboot button. I hope they fix it. I have onlly tested with Warface.

I have played around and i didn't get any problem with Doom, on the other hand i got lower fps that usuale in Fallout 4 with mods like - 10 fps but Fallout 4 is not new .
Gonna try with Subnautica and Killing Floor 2.

Same here. Also does your GPU core lock to max after exiting any games? It used to do that in VR titles for me in 17.11.4. Now it is every single title.

I am using the "Max Power Savings" in the PCIe link state power settings (among other things) for a couple of days, trying to fix a "no display" problem after prolonged inactivity. And may be because of that, the GPU core clock does fall back to 300MHz after exiting the game. I have checked with GPU-z running separately, instead of the AMD overlay, AB or GPU tweak.

I have experienced another weird bug in the adernilane. In SteamVR interface my GPU utilization is ~60%, corresponding to about 900MHz in core speed. This results in massive lag in SteamVR home. So far the only solution is force power state 7 onto all power states(constant max core speed).

I am reporting the bug to AMD, but god knows how long it will take for them to snap these bugs.

Also is it normal for loads of micro lagging in CS:Go after enabling Enhanced Sync?

List of bugs I found on my FuryX, at yes I used latest DDU before installing 17.12.1

1. Driver overlay causes massive lag in game, as @Nabarun has also reported
2. Core speed locked to max after any gaming session
3. SteamVR home interface not 100% GPU utilization, resulting in massive loss of frame time. Most VR titles runs fine though
4. AMD Link in iOS will loose paired computer upon exiting
5. Over the board performance loss. And no @buggalugs it is NOT smoother
6. Micro lagging whenever Enhanced Sync is enabled. Experienced in both CS:GO and L4D2
7. Overwatch is not fixed.
8. Horrible Fallout 4 VR performance. However this is more than likely due to the lack of Async Reprojection support.

So many bugs, yet all the major tech review sites are only praising this driver. I wonder why.

Actually, the Enhanced sync has been really amazing for me so far. The only problem I've had are game-specific, with certain demanding titles crashing even with good fps and acceptible temps. Far Cry 4 has been a pain in the @ss. Always crashing the system after 15-20 mins. But with this specific driver, the overlay seems to be the only "new" culprit. But that's just for me. May be it's not quite as tuned for DirectX as it is for Vulcan... yet.

Sometimes i got drivers going in error when i try to open the overlay in some games and some not.
They need to fix this too.

Overwatch is not fixed
It is for most ppl, I had problems for months until this driver and have not had one crash since using it. It was extensively tested in the beta grp.

Maybe they just used Polaris and Vega for OW testing bed. Oh well. Can’t expect too much from RTG anyway

Southern Islands user here, no problems with Overwatch, nor with the overlay, but I didn't test it too much.
