AMD RDNA 4 and Radeon RX 9070 Series Unveiled: $549 & $599

I buy now just now

MSRP is good now will the board partners screw us?

Power usage looks rather questionable for a card in this category tbh. And yes, 9700 needs to have a $100 difference.

Now to see if AMD has restrained AIB pricing to mostly around MSRP or not I guess.

Assuming the performance is close enough to expected when reviewed, I will also be buying the 9070 XT on release (if I can get one), on pricing I'll be happy to pay $650 for it.

Grab a 360w version SLAP 400W on there and +400 on the core clock and + 500-1000 on the memory, and there’s your 4090.

I think it should be $499 to warrant the performance difference between the two
Don't say that, the rabid pro-AMD hordes will crawl out of the woodwork to accuse you of wanting the company to fail... even though it makes complete sense from a marketshare perspective.

id like to see more benchamrks but think ill definitely get one (9070xt) at that price if possible.

The XT's 304W is in line with 5070Ti's 300W. If anything, the non-XT 220W seems low if compared to the projected 5070's 250W.

during the AMD live event they said partners will be making a 340 watt version as well, that will score even higher than stock 9070 xt. if that one comes in at $680-$720 I'd even be interested in that one.

China price around 700$-800$ , i just grab the 6800xt + waterblock from china for 300$ which is okayish .

9070XT $600 MSRP, $400 less than the 5070Ti with the fake MSRP.
I'm excited for benchmarks to see how it compares.
VAT+AIB so 940-1000 is just normal MSRP price for 5070Ti

Same hapens whit 9070XT it cost here in store 760 soon and some aib models +800 and couple over 900

Very eager to see W1zzard's review!

I think the 9070 should come down to at least $529. Sure, a $20 difference might not be much, but $529 looks a lot nicer than $549....ideally I think it should be $499 to warrant the performance difference between the two. The XT, from the provided 1440p performance slides appears to be roughly 20% faster. I'd rather pay an extra $50 for 20% more performance.

I wonder how many cards will be around that $600 and $550 price range or if we're expected to see and pay for cards that are bloated in price at $100-300 over MSRP.
That makes u buy more expensive GPU when they are closer, so it will boost 9070XT sales..

Very eager to see W1zzard's review!

especially the FSR4 section. I'm so curious if it ends up being as good as DLSS4 in terms of fidelity, this is the first time AMD has put special hardware on the card itself to match tensor cores/transformers

That's a great MSRP. There'll be bigger than $50 difference in real price, so that parts irrelevant.

Ctrl+f "stock", no hits... Guess we'll find out soon

Thanks AMD, can't wait for TPU review.

Likewise, I'm happy to pay a little more for more performance as long as it makes sense in terms of performance per cost.

Pricing the 9070 at just 50 less is sure one of the moves of all time. Speculation: there are two possible reasons - either the 9070XT was supposed to be significantly more expensive originally and the correction messed up the stack (likely) or AMD for some reason got a really bum deal on the N48 chips from TSMC and that’s what they NEED to break even on the card (less likely).

I was a bit curious what my Powercolor 7800XT Hellhound can do with the game internal benchmarks of avatar / pandora.

Note: This is a gaming only windows 11 pro 24h2 installation with an offline user, nearly no settings. My main OS is my gentoo installation from 1996. I do install the windows update packages and amd gpu driver packages and windows software packages 90% from computerbase.de/downloads.

I deleted the amd gpu driver avatar setting, i set it to default. I set everything I could to default. I set the game settings to ultra.

I hardly run benchmarks. Maybe I made an error.

I think my Monitor ASUS PA278QV somehow limit the results to max 75 FPS. Freesync range is around, afaik, 38-75FPS. I usually played around 45 fps.

Internal benchmark / WHQD / monitor seems to limit to 75 fps / I saw after the reboot on the next screen this is with "upscaling".
It seems the game itself refuse to let me set it to higher fps values.

after reboot i checked again - monitor hard limit at 75 fps / whqd.

i disabled frame generation to OFF and run again the internal benchmark

I set everything to default - which i usually do not do before running these benchmarks today

-- default very bad idea - I deleted teh pandora game profile - i will not play this anymore - i finished that game 2-3 weeks ago. two game profiles left for frostpunk and the long dark. global tuning set the button to default.

Note: Graphic cards are usually not tested on low end mainboards with entry level processors. ryzen 7600x should be 9800x3d. Dram could be much faster.

Very good price if the test results are correct. I was waiting 699 USD but it is 100 dolar cheaper.

That's not what he writes though.
I know it's not, but it became kind of a meme the ever present "No DLSS" at the cons of everything non-NVIDIA. Not to mention the "wonder if Radeon dGPUs will still be around" line.

A $1000 price isn't normal at all for a midrange card, nvidia could increase supply but have no reason to when gaming is less than 10% of their revenue.
$760-800 is more than I'd pay but somewhat more tolerable than $1000. The Powercolor Reaper and some other cards should be close to MSRP.
That's not what he writes though.
That is what he writes in a nutshell, completely ignoring DLSS being a proprietary feature.
