If that is true why don't they fork out the measly amount for a WHQL cert?

I'm willing to admit it's as simple as a terminology change but they need to clear that up. Any links to where they have said that, that you know of?

I believe WHQL signed drivers are required for... something somewhere in Windows... under some circumstances. Plus it's a snake oil.

In short, MUH ENTIRPRYS
And WHQL is also probably (not sure, I don't run it) needed to be included in driver updates through Windows Update, which the only way how 99% of plebs ever update their drivers.
