AMD released the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.1 beta drivers. The drivers come with optimization for "DiRT 4," including an AMD CrossFire profile, and up to 30 percent improvement in frame-rates with 8x MSAA cranked up. The drivers also improve performance of "Prey" (2017) by up to 4 percent, as tested on a machine with a Radeon RX 580 8 GB graphics card.

The drivers also fixed a number of issues, including virtual super-resolution (VSR) not correctly enabling on certain Radeon RX 400 and RX 500-series GPUs; HDR not correctly enabling on certain WQHD or higher-resolution displays; flickering noticed on some WQHD or higher-resolution displays connected via HDMI; fast mouse movements causing a frame-rate drop in "Prey" (2017); "Mass Effect: Andromeda" noticing a stutter with multi-GPU systems; and a system hang noticed on Radeon R9 390 series GPUs with the memory overclocked using a third-party application. Grab the driver from the link below.

DOWNLOAD: AMD Radeon Software Crimson ReLive 17.6.1

The change-log follows.

Support For
  • DiRT 4
    o Multi GPU profile
o Up to 30% performance improvement when using 8xMSAA measured on Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics when compared to Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 17.5.2
  • Prey
o Up to 4% performance improvement measured on Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics when compared to Radeon Software Crimson ReLive edition 17.5.2
Fixed Issues
  • Virtual Super Resolution may fail to enable on some Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 series graphics products.
  • HDR may fail to enable on some displays for QHD or higher resolutions.
  • Flickering may be observed on some Radeon RX 500 series products when using HDMI with QHD high refresh rate displays.
  • AMD XConnect: systems with Modern Standby enabled may experience a system hang after resuming from hibernation.
  • Fast mouse movement may cause an FPS drop or stutter in Prey when running in Multi GPU system configurations.
  • Adjusting memory clocks in some third party overclocking applications may cause a hang on Radeon R9 390 Series products.
  • Graphics memory clock may fluctuate causing inconsistent frame rates while gaming when using AMD FreeSync technology.
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda may experience stutter or hitching in Multi GPU system configurations.
  • The GPU Scaling feature in Radeon Settings may fail to enable for some applications.
  • Error message "Radeon Additional Settings: Host application has stopped working" pop up will sometimes appear when hot plugging displays with Radeon Settings open.

I'm having trouble installing it. I uninstalled the previous one, restarted, installed this one successfully, but it's not installed. Restarted and repeated but still not installed. Asus' GPU teak says VGA dll not loaded. wtf!

Edit:
I reverted back to the older (17.5.2) driver and everything is working fine. Something's wrong with the 17.6.1 installer.

So nothing for Tekken 7? Really AMD?

Still, on the last 16.XXX since AMD decided to deny HBM overclocking on the 17.XXX releases.

Really? With Trixx i can overclock the ram too but is not stable in the long run.

The drivers don't work it says i'm on 17.5.2 :( .

The clock "changes", the bandwidth stays the same, I tested that with aida 64! With the 16.xxx you change the clock and the bandwidth scales with the clock.

So, anyone else tried a "clean install" with it? I'm kinda freaking out about possible virus infection or HW fault.

I am seeing performance increase in DX12 applications. At least in Time Spy. Everything default, Time Spy went from ~5400 to ~5550. Ashes of Singularly is seeing better performance as well. Driver optimization in effect for VEGA?

love this 17.6.1 , finally fixed the SVR and got me off the 17.2.1 driver

The AMD community in TPU is so shit. I had no idea :(

Why does the driver have two different version numbers? 17.6.1, but the inf file says something like 21.19.523.2. What is this?

Having the exact same issue:

https://community.amd.com/message/2803353

You might want to check that thread, i installed the Driver Packge on a Fresh Windows7 x64 install with all updates, and even tried on a second System with a old PhenomII and still not working. The Driver or Package must be faulty.

I found several threads regarding this issue, when asked on those threads about their issues AMD_Matt (Mod or Radeon Developer) accused me of "hijacking" their threads.

Anyway, you could try reaching AMD and do a report of the issue here:

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to question my head. More so because the shit worked just fine in a clean 10-64 (albeit with no drv-sig enforcement). But on the 7 it just acted weird. And yes, I already submitted the report that very day.

For some magic reason. after i unistalled the previous version again and then used DDU the drivers now works.
I redownloaded the drivers too for being sure they where not faulty XD.
