AMD Revising Radeon HD 6900 Series PCB

If it's Jan 22, then you will really need luck, I think.

*edit* Oh, it was not you, siqueirah:o Sorry, I misread.

Anyone here try to solder the two pins on the 6950 power supply so you can convert to a 8 pin connector.

I just looked at the front and back high res pictures of the 6970 and 6950, and I think you would be able to do that quite easily. The PCBs look identical, save for some different looking DP connectors and the random marking here and there.

I was wondering about that because the 2900 pro had a 8 pin connector and I only have 2x6 pin, so I connected 2 more grounds which allowed me to use the ati over drive. Theirs discussion here that the 2 pins to be added might just be grounds, but if someone here has a 6970 they could take a voltage reading for me and let me know what they get, I'll do the rest.
I tried the bios mod and am wondering if we can do another mod just to fool the card into thinking it is a 6970 so it doesn't increase the voltage but allows a 6950 to go past the 840 & 1325 constraint. When I mod to a 6970 my temps idle at about 60c instead of around 40c.
I tried a driver that came out later then the 14 of Dec, seemed to take care of the higher temps.

True, would be great if we could get a 6970 owner to do take these readings.

Anyone knows when 2nd batch is releasing? Cause my supplier say currently no stock, stock will come in on Tuesday (11/1/2011), so wondering if that is the new stock or the old stock.

Any news as to when the new revision will be available and what the changes are ?
