Then how would changing the orientation of the GPU fix or break the issue if it's a faulty cable?
No idea, I also don't understand why putting the GPU back doesn't cause the temperature to also go back. But it seems increasingly clear to me that it's not the cooler at fault here.
Maybe the cable is somewhat loose so when the orientation changes some pins don't make proper contact, I don't know. It's strange either way.
