AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Starts Selling at 30% Mark-up

I bought from Newegg sold/shipped by Newegg for $449. OP posted some BS listing from "SenyTech", this clickbait thread should be deleted, wtf happened to TPU.

They arrived for 2999 BRL (650 USD) in Brazil's largest store (KaBuM), which all things considered is not exactly an unreasonable price, but IMHO it is an unattractive one and the reason is not even Intel's competition, but historically low prices on the existing SKUs. The 5950X is insignificantly more expensive at 3749, and a downright better processor in practically every regard with twice the cores and two thirds the cache (yes I know of the inter CCD latencies but honestly, its a tradeoff). The 5900X is cheaper at 2849.

At 1829, though, the Ryzen 7 5700X is simply the best price/performance processor at the price it released since the i5-2500K if not even better than that, though. This one IMHO is the true star of the show.

a good/great drop-in replacement vs an entire new platform and (very likely) overpriced ddr5?

why, no thank you.

It's comparable to chips that are hundreds of dollars cheaper with cherry picked performance gains in limited scenarios.

Saw one for pre-order (arriving 29th) on eBuyer in the UK for £414.99 - which is about what I would expect $449 to equate to (+20% VAT).

Currently at £409 pre order on overclockers.co.uk

Hi,
Third party gouger nothing new about that at the egghead shack

Wonder how many prior amd series boards this chip will fit on and how many prior series boards will fit a 12900 still you'd wonder why someone would say 12900 is a better buy if they already had a amd board compatible with 5800x3d

I do not see newegg selling it on it's own, how ever for this price posted here you can get a mobo with it for around the same price lmao.

Newegg went to shit many years ago, dislike it just as much as Amazon but at least you do not have to buy a mobo too.

$449 at my local Microcenter, 22 currently available. Can’t reserve them online, but I imagine that’s just a temporary measure before they let you do that too. Oh, and take $20 off a compatible motherboard purchase while you’re at it!

Same here for my Microcenter. 13 available, in-store only.

No one should buy this CPU until it gets to below $350, as 5900X could be bought for $369 now.

The pricing structure of the 5xxx series seems to be in a little bit of a shambles now that the 5800x3d is released

5600x 210
5700x 270
5800x 320
5900x 360
5950x 500

5800x3d 410

To me the 5900x just became the favourite chip.

Depends on use case if you are only gaming the X3D is a better purchase. If you need 12 cores then 5900X is it.

From a third party seller.........Not surprised in the least.

It was available this morning for about an hour from Newegg directly. Out of stock now. ................Dont be like this TPU

Unintentional you say?

I'm seeing the 5800x3d at 489€ in geizhals, if I was going to spend that much money I'd rather spend a little more and go for the 5950x (539€) but to each his own, I personally don't really see the appeal on the x3d for now, you may get some great benefit in some games but the competing products (like 5900x, 5800x and 5700x with current price cuts) are already at such a high level that for me it hardly matters and the others are better in everything else.

I almost bought it..

I love my 5900.. it’s a beast. But I think back to running my 5600X and how my fans barely spooled with that cpu installed unless it was working hard. If you can’t oc 5800x3d then it would probably run nice and cool in my system.

If it is still in stock tomorrow I might buy it..

Would probably sell my 5900X.. ugh.

Local store selling 5800X3D around $459

The price for the 5800x3d in Australia atm is around $500 USD but it’s all out of stock as expected…

You would have thought after realizing the screw up this article would have been removed; Yet it’s still here spreading false information.

If you bothered to look for yourself, Newegg was selling the 5800X3D at the $449 MSRP. It was a 3rd party seller selling the CPU for a markup on Newegg.
at the time of the article and my reply, it was priced as the article said. most would get that part.
