AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Starts Selling at 30% Mark-up

120EUR premium at jimms.fi. 5800X is 395EUR, 5800X3D is 515EUR.

What is funny is that 5900X is 470EUR. But purely for gaming, then yeah, 5800X3D is a better choice.
Aside from 2 games tested on TPU ie Borderlands 3 and Farcry 5. You would not notice any noticeable gaming performance in other the other games tested 1-6fps in most cases
between the 5900X and 5800X3D. You can add MS Flight simulator to that list. Also the 5900X has 20% more raw CPU performance.

Better gaming with an * next to it. Looking at the actual fps numbers @1080p and 1440p than just looking the at Relative performance chart makes a difference.

Why would I search for 'reseller'? The seller is mentioned in the last sentence of the first paragraph. It's also clearly in the screenshot that it's shipped and sold by a third party.

This whole article is baiting - and guess who bit?
a market place vendor is not exactly the same as a reseller. if you correlate that as the same, not much more i can say.

Fake news
Gotta love when a mod calls out an editor... lol.

This is indeed fake news in the classical sense. That was a 3rd party seller, and that title is helluva misleading one.

Half a day after launch it was basically out of stock on almost all the popular German computer shopping sites eventhough some were selling it for over 500€. :kookoo:

What is this baiting FUD garbage? It's available from multiple retailers (including newegg) for msrp right now, why are you pretending that third-parties trying to scalp represents anything other than third-parties trying to scalp? "ItS NoT As gUD ValUe nOw! GiT 12900 InSteAD!" This has Intel-shilling written all over it.
How is it fud? After less than a few hours prices have literally skyrocketed until they were out of stock.
In Europe
Mindfactory 519€ out of stock after less than 6 hours
Caseking 490€ - out of stock
Proshop 500€ - out of stock, shipment expected on 10th May
Etech 519€ - out of stock
Computer Universe - not even listed
Amazon.de 586€
Wherever it's availlable you're paying almost a 30% premium for it.

Skyrocketed you say

I don’t know about where you are but in the US it’s MSRP. Even on Newegg it’s MSRP other than 3rd party sellers. Stock has been in and out all day

I managed to get one at 500€ in France but I was lucky, price wise.

I slammed it in place of my 5600x and I'm glad to see it works well at 1900 fclk with my DDR4 at 14 16 16 timings.

I'm set for a while.

Yup i keep bitching when this is basically ryzen 3300x all over again

I'd really love to know how many chips Europe got
5800x3d pricing.jpg

Average selling price from various online retailers (India), these are not scalping prices! AVG price is $582 most of them have single digit in stock some only 1unit available.
I also will also keep bitching that the Ryzen 5 5600 has not been launch here and that no online retailer has stock for them. despite all other new released AMD CPUs being availble
the most budget friendly CPU is missing in the India market place.

Mate we're talking about the biggest German stores here not some god forsaken country. Most countries in Europe didn't even get the cpu's yet. Which says a lot about this cpu launch.

@mahoney

I may have misread the context of what you meant by "god forsaken country."

I apologize for the mix-up it was most likely a misunderstanding on my part. :toast:

2 weeks since launch and pc shops in my country have yet to receive these chips. What a travesty

The prices are also a big lol
Mindfactory claimed to have sold over 600 units of the 5800X3D already.

Yeah but why are they selling them for such a huge fee? MF was known to have one of the cheapest prices in Europe yet they're selling the chip at such a high markup - like they have limited stock? Not to mention some countries haven't even received these cpu's yet. Something's going on

Most likely limited stock considering the time of the release of this CPU being at the end of the AM4 era. I'm sure marketing , based on previous sale data, decided what countries would give the best return in revenue for this release.

You may eventually see this CPU show up in your area, but by then it might be too late to be beneficial for most people with newer CPUs coming out for Intel and AMD.

They were in stock at B&H yesterday, but sold out now. Mine is working fine!
