AMD to Polevault Zen+, Head Straight to 7nm Zen2 for EPYC

Hope they come out with a 5GHz SKU, even if lower cored, to compete with IBM's POWER9 for some workloads. I remember posts saying 5GHz was a confident reach at 7nm.

AMD is in danger to exhaust everything they have early. Not playing the Intel game by using all available cannons might have a severe penalty.

Not at this point and not at this time, amd showing everything they have means they are also transparent to what they think the competition cant get where they are at moment, it means amd is confident and that is good, intel never did anything to progress core count or even performance, intel launched a quad core in 2006 and still offers only a quad core, that is 12 years on quad cores, that is bs, intel never showed interest on progression, they just kept milking 5% more ipc every 2 years.

All I can say is that I'm so looking forward to this next release.. AMD will be my next CPU of choice... I think I'll just have to buy Ryzen whatever and a Epyc just to be sure...

I hope Intel pulls something out of their hat or I might actually have to consider purchasing an AMD CPU.

Why the puke smiley? Are you having some reaction to buying what offers the best bang for the buck?

It's an attempt at trolling

The only thing Intel needs to pull out of their hat is some small performance improvements and adding more cores and likely it'll still have an advantage, just.
