Mostly because AMD users never seem happy. Like a chip on their shoulder or something.

Enjoy your card like everyone else? Great..

The 7800xt is majority sold out at newegg, so.....what are you talking about? If AMD barely makes any 7800xts that is nobody's fault but AMD.

The 4060ti outsold the 7800xt, mostly, because the 7800xt was over half a year late to market. Same with the 7700xt. And with the 7700xt, AMD played the pricing game, putting it way too close to the 7800xt to make the 7800xt look better. That's entirely on AMD.
I had plenty of options for the 7800 XT, when I decided for it. So your "low stock available" argument is out.

Also, I paid a fraction of the price of what a 4070/4070S would've cost me, with more vram.

They way I see it is AMD users have to defend their liking of their product. I spent months defending my 7900X3D because the narrative was so strong without reviews. It was to the point where that chip got to as low as $343 Canadian. Now people make fun of me because I like my 7900X3D/7900XT combo.

What the heck are you even talking about man? As we speak, there are 2 headlines about AMD in the first page - and like 20 in the recent headlines regarding one freaking card, the 9070xt. Based on the actual marketshare, amds gpu division is getting insane amount of news coverage.
Are you looking at the first page? Most of it is Nvidia news, theres only like 2-3 AMD GPU articles on the news front page.

But why? If you like it then who cares what others think? It does what you want right?

Same for NV users. They don't care what you run. They are happy with their setups, unless they are having a tough go at todays prices.

I spent months defending my 7900X3D because the narrative was so strong without reviews.
Its just like people saying a 5900X cant play games. Inter CCD latency this, only 6 cores per CCD that.. meanwhile it fucking rocked. I don't run stock, so maybe stock sucks, dunno.

Now people make fun of me because I like my 7900X3D/7900XT combo.
I haven't made fun of you. I like my combo too. Its 2 days older than dirt for the most part, but for me its still fine. For just games? It rips. For everything else? You can do better lol..

When you have AMD users shouting from the mountaintops ngreedia this ngreedia that, every thread, every page.. it is annoying. And its always the same guys. Every. Time.

AMD users always have to justify the purchase because nvidia users always find some way to call AMD users stupid for not buying an Nvidia card, you know its bad even when those associated with TPU join in on it. Luckily AMD has taken enough marketshare there isn't such hostility on the CPU side, but on the GPU side its much more difficult as AMD can't just claw away at marketshare when the diehards will always buy from team green regardless if features are a valid excuse.

That literally never happens. It's exactly the other way around. Nobody has called someone buying amd a "Sheep" yet you read that every other thread about nvidia users. Sheep, idiots, ngreedia is a daily on the menu. Feel like you are living in a different universe man..

Im even challenging you, find 10 posts (from that unlimited amount of nvidia fanboys you claim exist) in the last month that called an amd buyer sheep. Cause i can easily find 10 doing the same for nvidia buyers in the last month alone...

I'm half tempted to start shopping around for a 9070 or a 9070XT outside of the "official distribution channels"

Same goes for the local Nvidia Zealots. And guess what it’s always the same people…

Unfortunately for the rest of the forums, there are more of em due to the fact of the current market share situation. Let’s stop pretending only one side has bad actors.

You say you don't care but here you are saying AMD have screwed themselves already, based on a rumor from someone making a prediction. It's hilarious how it's a guess based on someone guessing but people here wanna say AMD is fucked already.

It doesn't, only those staring at a frame rate counter say a dual CCD chip sucks, i'm so tired of people staring at FPS graphs telling people something sucks instead of actually playing the game.

And them you have the same Nvidia users shouting AMD sucks in every AMD thread, thats annoying too, and its especially tiring when staff jumps in to defend the team green diehards.
That is literally crazy talk. A true figment of you're imagination.
You and the other nvidia users are in here bashing, you're insisting AMD users are unhappy for speaking up in this thread.

Now you are making stuff up.

I have never bashed AMD. You stir shit up all the time, in multiple threads.

These companies don't owe you a penny, quit pushing your opinions on everyone.

Has it ever crossed your mind that if AMD makes a good card - on time - it will sell, just like it did in the past?
No, the latest NPC firmware update is "nVidia users bad and all whom do not worship AMD are nVidia users and thus Bad, all AMD news gets brigaded and nothing is their fault". You see the same bland unsupported talking points anytime someone doesnt kiss Lisa's ring, that "all the nvidia users are bashing AMD" and "you weren't going to buy AMD anyway" nonsense that gets thrown at everyone. You can show all the good years AMD had, but since they didnt take 80% of the market it showed everyone hated AMD somehow. You point out AMD is lagging hard in RT and FSR, and they start whining about how nobody uses those anyway and you just want cheaper nvidia cards.

There is a serious issue with victimhood mentality among AMD cheerleaders and as AMD has continued to slip they've gotten angrier. They'll label me, someone who has run AMD in his main rig for nearly a decade, as an nvidia shill because I point out AMD's shortcomings and pricing games are why they are unpopular.

I call it WCCFtech syndrome.

And if thats the case 9070xt will end up around $649.
That's definitely will not work for AMD because RX 7800 XT was 499$ and at the same time it was faster than RTX 4070 for 599$. RX 9070 XT should cost around 549$ or it will be fail from the start.

I was tempted to wait out the 9900X3D but I think the whole "only one CCD" (even though it's not needed) put me off. Went for the 9900X instead.

My last 3 desktop gpus have been nvidia cause...well, I bought in a segment that amd didn't even have cards. Literally.. (1080ti, 3090, 4090). Everything else before that and as far back as 2002 was amd :banghead:

Dude.. You need to chill.

I am neutral when it comes to hardware, for the most part. I run AMD hardware right now. FFS man.

It’s only going to matter based on the current market. If the 5070ti and 9070XT offer 7900xt/7900xtx/4080 like raster performance, neither company is going to give that away for free. Last generations release was a clear indication of that.

Why would a 5070ti or 9070xt that are offering like or better performance to previous gen top tier performance (excluding 4090) for 50% less when it’s clear either company can milk the market?

Prices absolutely need to come down, but 9070XT with ~4080/7900XTX performance around $600-$649 would be MASSIVELY better value than any card released last gen. Performance can land anywhere at this point. We can play the “we want these prices otherwise nothing’s going to sell” game as much as we want, but neither company has their feet on the ground when it comes to actual sane consumer side pricing - we are irrelevant at this point in time.

Because that is the problem.. people are getting a bit riled up about prices.

Everything is expensive now.. at least where I live.

Radeon dGPU division is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Making the cards is expensive and profit margins suck. There's a world of difference between using those nodes for Epyc and using them for Radeon. I'm not sure selling RX 9070 XT cards for 500 dollars will make AMDs investors and high ups particularly happy.
100% agree.

This view is not looked at enough and lot of people ignore these are publicly traded companies.

Because that is the problem.. people are getting a bit riled up about prices.

Everything is expensive now.. at least where I live.

And? The majority of people buy it anyways because they have zero self control, then turn around and complain and buy again next release.

The low end and mid range market essentially don’t exist thanks to companies sliding the pricing scale up and product positioning down, and in general just being blown-out of proportion thanks to Crypto and Covid.

If people just continue to roll over and buy whatever they can due to fomo, it’s just going to get worse. All anyone does is complain about prices for the last few years, and the price of everything continues to go up. Complaining doesn’t do a thing.

Prices absolutely need to come down, but 9070XT with that ~4080/7900XTX performance around $600-$649 would be MASSIVELY better value than any card released last gen.
Will see there are no warranties that RX 9070 XT actually will be at ~4080/7900XTX level (on average) may be closer to RTX 4070 Ti/RX 7900 XT.

RX 7900 XT 320bit 20GB new already costs 650€! That's way i think RX 9070 XT should cost less. What's the point if it's costs the same but is only 5% faster who will buy it for that hair splitting boost ?
