Antec Inc., a global leader in high-performance computer enclosures, power supplies, and mobile accessories today announces the availability of the GX500, the latest addition to Antec's GX series. The case is now commercially available from 59€ (suggested retail price including VAT) and is backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty.

Despite its understated design, the entry-level chassis comes with great features. The Midi-Tower is black inside and out, has side vents for improved air circulation and rounded upper and lower edges. The GX500 is a clean and powerful case with space for high-end graphics cards up to a length of 15 inches (380 mm), as well as extra space behind the motherboard tray for cable routing. Thanks to its cutout for the CPU and generous space for cable management, it is fun and easy to assemble a system. Additional features include standard SSD support and dual front mounted USB 3.0 ports for transfer rates up to 5 Gbps.

The top-mounted IO panel allows direct access to the main components, such as the HD audio in/out jacks and two fan control switches (high & low speeds). The Antec GX500 already comes with three pre-installed 120 mm fans and mounts for three additional 120 mm fans for optimal cooling of your components. A total of eight drive bays and space for seven expansion cards are available in this value-orientated gaming chassis.

nasty side vents always ruin cases for me.

This looks like it was designed in 1999, with the side vent and no window. Good luck competing with Corsair's SPEC cases...

Nice from Antec modern design with curvy lines.

There will be a windowed edition for sure.

I've have seen similar cases from Antes sell out quickly and become very hard to find in the past. it all depends on price IMO. The aesthetics are fine IMO as well. I missed out on a case like this once not too long ago that was an incredible deal but I just didn't need another case at the time. I actually still don't need another case since I have a spare Antes 300.

I would have liked to have seen some internal shots of this case though.

Edit:

Turns out it was the same Antes GX500 case in name if not revision. Apparently the GX500 cost about ~$49.99 USD at Newegg (a decent price IMO) but in the case I was referring to above a rebate dropped the price down to ~$26 USD shipped. A greater price for a good case.

If this case will have good 5,25 inch drives tooless system could be first serious competitor for enermax ostrog

Fan controller but punch-out irreplaceable PCI slot covers? Antec is obviously not aiming this chassis at the enthusiast market.

This case screams for a large, clear and non vented window. Plus a white edition would be nice.

Antec 900/902 is still a better looking case than this reincarnation.

Antec 100 & 300 are still amazing cases for the price though.

when many brands design simple and sleek case
antec move to this design?

Thanks for the picture,.....

As I said before in the edit though, I'm fairly sure this is the same GX500 case I've seen before. Its a fairly cheap case at ~$49.99 and I have seen it go for as little as ~$25 to ~$26 shipped (A/R). A cheap case like this (cheap in price not necessarily quality) isnt IMO something to nit-pick on.

Its not in the same price range as the Antec 900 which could be about ~$99 still if not on sale. Its not even necessarily in the price range of the Antec 300 because those can still come in at about ~$59 USD. I'd consider the Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 to be about on the same level and ~$49.99 price,...
