Antec High Current Pro Platinum 1000W PSU Pictured

Antec showed off the High Current Pro (HCP) Platinum 1000W PSU, at CeBIT. The HCP Platinum is an 80 Plus Platinum-compliant variant of the original High Current Pro launched in 2010, which were 80 Plus Gold-compliant. Antec's exhibit featured a special body retrofitted with acrylic windows so visitors could see its innards, the retail version will obviously have a full-metal body, and a 135 mm fan in its right place, to keep the unit cool. The HCP Platinum 1000W features a quad-12V rail design, with four 40A rails. The unit features completely modular cabling, including for the 24-pin ATX and dual 8-pin EPS connectors. There's sufficient cabling for even 4-way setups. The source mentions the unit to be contract-manufactured by Delta Electronics, for Antec. More pictures of this "juicy" PSU at the source.

It is a great idea from Antec to put a glass panel on the top of a PSU. It is good to see that they have the confidence to show a high quality product with a clean presentation.

problem with this is im sure it'll overheat and explode, needs some airflow. Looks awesome though


Edit: nvm, re read btas newspost and the retail version will have the fan. I Take it back, this looks like a nice psu

Relax, its just a show off. The ones on the market will have a fan.

What's the deal with 4 12v rail's? I always thought a single rail was more stable/robust I've always used single rail PSU's, but then again i've always used single GFX card as well....

It all depends on how it's done. And too much amps on a single rail can cause some bad stuff (almost the bottom). That's why we want it reviewed.

I've been concerned too about such big and powerful single 12v rails

The only reason i came in here after reading it was to say i wish the retail version could look like that display model and i see half the comments thinking it is the retail model. It looks like over a quarter of the text in the article is about that one detail

I think the display model does look really good and i would happily mod that in to a working model by adding vents to the side and fans to the back, i know i could do that to any PSU but the less work the better as i am lazy .

Nice PSU & a total of 83amps for the 12v rails , that is 23amps more than my 750w PSU on the 12v rail

Makes me wonder how much more amps a board can take on the 12v rail before it blows out?
