Any chance PSU reviews will come back?

Is there any chance that the PSU reviews will come back? The last one was March 20th when CRMaris was still around.

With ATX 3.0 and the new PCIe 5.0 connectors becoming more important, it would really be helpful to get TPU's thorough testing on the latest crop of powersupplies.

I vote for the Kyle Bennett method of suffocating them until they explode. Strangely, those reviews weren't archived.

Kidding. Cool to see, I'm curious how the current range of current high-power, high-efficiency at general top-end use-case SFF PSUs hold up. I, for one, miss the absurdly concise era of Jonny Guru, but I also understand *most* are fairly decent these days and perhaps that level of detail is no longer necessary from the brands you would likely be reviewing. If they could give me those TPU voltage/wattage load limit graphs, efficiency curves, temp/noise ramp and OCP/OPP trip points I'd be mostly happy. :)

Honestly I don't see much need for PSU reviews any longer, given how easy it is to simply check Cybenetics' lab results. At leastnot unless you're going to use their level of testing equipment or better and somehow test them even more thoroughly.

That's a completely fair point, and something I considered mentioning. That said, never hurts to have more voices and a larger sample size.

There's some good info there, but they don't seem to do ripple and spike testing, nor do they do OCP checks or really get into any kind of build quality. It's basically just efficiency and specifications (at least on the reports I've looked at).

On a side note, I found OklahomaWolf reviews to be some of the best reviews out there, not just for quality and content, but they were often fun to read as well. Something to aspire to.

Same, JohnnyGuru was basically the only place worth reading for PSU reviews back then. Everyone else's testing was half-arsed in comparison.

The website has not tested one PSU from Xilence, even though they have been providing high quality models for many years.

Something tells me that that website does not test many good products.

And don't forget that it is always better to have more sources than a single source that has its own subjective preferences and may be corrupt.

I would assume they test products from any manufacturer who wants to pay for certification, as any certification company does. A Cybenetics certification is hardly necessary though, since few people even know they exist, but pretty much every one of the acknowledged brand and quality leaders are there. Don't know anything about Xilence, as I've never seen or used one.

Of course more sources are better than one, but like I said there's no point unless the testing is at the same or a higher level.

Agree-ish.

This is great for people who know what they are doing and an absolute wall of data for those who don't.
Part of what makes reviews essential is that they also help educate / put things into layman's for consumers (it's more approachable).
