AOC Intros U2870VQE 28-inch Ultra HD Monitor

AOC introduced the U2870VQE, a 28-inch monitor that offers 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) native resolution. It embeds a non-glare TN-film panel, with 1 ms response time, 30-bit color (1.07 billion colors), 300 cd/m² maximum brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. Inputs include DisplayPort 1.2, mini-DisplayPort 1.2, and HDMI 1.4 with MHL support. Its stand offers basic tilt adjustments. Expect this monitor to be priced around the $450 mark.

Considering how bad the U2868PQU was, I can't imagine this will be any better.
The one I bought was the worst screen I've ever bought as it would randomly switch off and you had to unplug the power cord and leave it for 30-60 seconds so the LED would go out, then you could plug it back in and the screen would work. It would for no reason make loud popping static noises through the speakers and there was a black line with green dots going down the right hand side.

I sent it in to AOC for repair, they updated the firmware and they said it was fine. Well, same problem.
I even changed my graphics card, same problem.
A friend of mine got one too, same problem.
I've seen several people posting online with the same issues.

I'll have to admit it was nice having a 4K screen, but with all these problems, I'd never get AOC again. As this is the "cheaper" model, I'm scared to read the reviews of it.

No FreeSync support? (considering, freesync support is built-in into most scaler chips out there, it's more of a laziness than anything, if it isn't there)

Only 2x of the price of the 1080p is acceptable. Everyone should buy these kind of "not going to rip the customers off" monitors.

Yes. I say this is best left on the shelf. I also have the other aoc 4k and it took a while to get it working properly. It still flickers with no card attached.

I'm glad I managed to return mine for a full refund in the end. AOC's support is also terrible, especially when you ask them if they tested for this, that and the other problem and they tell you yes, we checked everything and it was fine and then you get it back and it's the same...
I normally don't complain about companies like this, but it simply was a terrible product.

Went with a Dell U2515H in the end and couldn't be happier, even though it's not 4K.
