Maybe the factory did a crappy paste job?

ig stock coolers can contribute to it since top blowers tend to blow hot air into the gpu's intake but

these temps look way off for a strix, and looking at the gt301 it doesnt seem to be one of those inept, suffocating hotboxes so yeah

i'd rma the gpu
The easiest thing to try is increase case fans speed in BIOS, but I don't think it's going to help. It's most likely a bad mount/thermal pads on VRAM.

The temperatures are probably not going to damage your GPU, but if you can I'd get a replacement as @Selaya said.
Is there a way to understand if GPU is second hand?

How much did it cost? Or was this a gift?

Local, I'm not from EU or US
Ah, okay. Just give them a ring and tell them that your shiny new GPU is running hot. OR change the fan profile a bit. I've been through the same thing with a recent purchase. You think it's running hot compared to what you were using and you get a bit panicky.

Just tested RDR2 same settings but at 1080p, GPU is running at max 69C avg 65C, memory temp is max 90 too now. I think it is caused by high pixel rate? Could it be possible?

GDDR6X is hotter...
3060Ti reviews are the older versions, with GDDR6. 3080 12GB is a bit better comparison

With a normal ambient of ~20C, TUF 3070 Ti is something like 62-65C edge temp and 80C VRAM. G6X is hotter than G6 but 98C is still a bit too much on TUF and Strix.

Whereabouts in the world are you? If your ambient temp is about 30C, then in combination with less than ideal airflow your 1080p numbers sound plausible.

The GT301 front panel looks like shite for airflow.

Make sure your card isn't sagging too hard. The Asus cards aren't the most rigid I've seen and it's good to keep them physically supported.

My house is around ~23-24C. Played Warzone 2.0 with Ultra graphics at 3440x1440 my gpu got up to 65C max, and memories is heated up to 86 max. Is it normal?
