There was also a weird delay when moving the CPU-Z window around with the 3900X, but no such thing with the 5900X.

I just had a similar experience with Momentum Cache turned on with my crucial p5 1tb nvme drive, then I turned it off, and my performance felt snappier all around.

but the momentum cache is advertised as being faster. it's all weird.

I am leaving it off permanently. Junk.

ive had no problems with my 3900x its worked perfect but those 5900x clocks are a great improvement and with the price coming down it makes them a nice step up.

Effective clock is either bugged on mine, or either I have the best CPU in the world because it shows 34 GHz.

It beats 11900K in single core benchmarks, I'm happy.

First I've heard of this bug. But HWInfo pre-7.x had multiple bugs when interacting with AGESA 1201+ BIOSes, so it might be the same deal if you're on one of those newest 1203 BIOSes. Anyhow try clearing your user prefs from the Settings window after updating to the latest beta version.
