Here are a few examples of Art.Lebedev being Art.Lebedev. The Russian innovator behind the OLED screen-capped keyboards showed off its flagship product, the Optimus keyboard, "wearing" various games' and software skins at the flick of a switch. We find each game getting a unique key- and icon-map. Among the examples are Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Half Life 2, a flight-sim, and a generic MMO layout. In addition, the studio showed off Optimus wearing shortcut-key maps for various productivity software such as Final Cut Pro, and Avid.

Despite the price and the glare from the glossy key covers, it's still an amazing product.

I would have to disagree with "Art.Lebdev being Art.Lebdev". Usually they put quite a bit of thought in their designs. This is just showing off.

As far as gaming is concerned, that "keyboard" is practically useless. In a gaming peripheral, buttons should be well spaced, easy to press, and give a good tactile feedback.

@hl2 photo, where is the hl2 dm toilet guy?????? :(

Obsolete for anyone except newbies to games and software. Anyone else who has played/used said games/software, will be looking at the screen, not the freaking keyboards.
Gratz on pointless tech.

Useful concept, but price is probably too high. Think of all the things you can do with that, arranging your keyboard to abcd rather than qwerty for the ocd people, etc.

Why is there a picture of Mario on the space bar for the WoW pic?

I understand it's jump, but why Mario?

He is known for jumping, and the animation is of him jumping.

Looks good for the airplane sim but otherwise nothing special for gamers, since gamers dont look at the keyboard.

I agree with Random on this one, why Mario?

Yes, we all know its an icon for the "jump" action, but these keys are specifically skinned for WOW, so where does Mario fit in the picture for that? Is there some kind of wow-fan inside joke goin on here?

What else would you use for jump? I guess a pair of shoes with action lines or something, but that is pretty boring.

gamers who need to look at their keyboard need to find another hobby

Does any hardcore gamer even buy this? I can imagine an uncomfortable "jump" space bar just by looking at it. All flat and shit

I remember about 60 years ago when they first announced this concept - it sounded fantastic and was accompanied by some incredible concept renderings.

But now 300 years later, after anyone who ever did care has had grandchildren and died, this revolting abortion barely warrants screen time, even if only to laugh at.

These guys need to just close shop. The full screen touch screen has already utterly slaughtered them - if they really must persist with this nonsense why not just release a tablet app that makes the screen LOOK like a keyboard full of graphic keys?

It will work better, LOOK BETTER, and be cheaper.

I'm just saying if all the keys are wow themed then why not just an icon of a wow character leaping over a rock or something? :p Overall this board is a neat concept, but not practical enough. Seems to be marketed towards kids or maybe fanboys with extra cash to spend...

Are you paying for my new hobby ? Because i look to keyboard while playing  ,everyone is not playing a game with a few buttons (think simulations etc. ) and/or memorising everything .

gamers who need to look at their keyboard need to find another hobby
